  1. While I had a great time and like Carnival - I will admit, by the time my cruised ended - 4 of the 10 treadmills were operational. That's pretty bad. At least they have a nice selection of free weights. On a different topic, I was also surprised at how full the gym hot tub was vs. the hot tub on the Lido. Packed in the gym and very open on the Lido, which was kinda nice.
  2. Not a chance. Gordon's or Skol, maybe.
  3. I read here the fatal one was the removal of the chocolate wax from the pillow. I'm a little surprised Carnival is still around.
  4. I carried on a bottle of wine. They didn't even look. It could have been whiskey - they wouldn't have known (if they cared).
  5. Actually - I don't remember. I didn't have any #'s so it wasn't that. I may have paid by credit card - in #'s? I'll just say it was 8 (something or other).
  6. As a backup to your backup - try Uber as a last resort. Just out of curiosity I priced the Uber cost before we boarded our train and it was about $155 euros. Even less than the Carnival transfer. I'm not sure it would have actually filled the request (although Uber has never failed me) as I didn't go through with the booking but something to consider in a worst case scenario.
  7. Just to specify for others - this was for this specific cruise only. I boarded the June 19th cruise - we left London via train at 9:40 am (Charing Cross Station). Arrived at Dover Priory at approximately 11:30 am. Found a cab just outside for the fixed 8 euro price to the port. Dropped off at the port at approximately 11:45 am. Walked in the terminal and saw many CSR's waiving their paddles at us to get us checked in. Had a snafu with Verifly but the check-in was still roughly 10 minutes. Walked as fast as we could to the ship check-in "ding" handheld. Piece of cake experience for us.
  8. Today's gain - +$135.08 That was super quick - should I sell 🤑 LOL
  9. I just bought (a few seconds ago). How will the stock be in 5 years? Hoping much higher but....could go poof. We shall see.
  10. Pssst - all cruise lines are struggling. Have you heard about Covid? It's a.......
  11. Another item on the Pride cruises - the Serenity area gets closed off around 7 or 8 pm to be used by the Carnival employees. Just an FYI.
  12. In Dover - extremely quick. Verifly did NOT work for me despite it giving me the green ready to fly approval. It didn't sync with Carnival's system (my wife's did - both on my phone) but the CSR spoke with 2 managers and got it resolved fairly quickly. They did briefly look at my "papers" but then pushed me through ( <10 minute snafu). We also didn't have sign & sail cards waiting for us at our cabin mailbox so I had to wait in line at guest services 😒 to be issued cards - not the best way to start the cruise - but otherwise things went well.
  13. This is correct. A very quiet area with windows. It was frequently used by those reading.
  14. Type G in UK. But only for your phone. You'll need a converter for the hair dryer. If you try the dryer without the converter, it'll will run faster and hotter than you ever imagined until it catches fire (or stops working)
  15. When departing Dover on Carnival excursion to the airport.....be ready. Our 6:30 am transfer just left at 6:13 am. There are other busses but I'm gone so no idea when they will leave.
  16. True. She'll be stuck working on the docks the rest of her life. That's why Bon Jovi has the song about Tommy working on the docks. Poor guy, he's still there working away.
  17. 2 USB on each side of the bed. 1 American and 1 Euro socket on the desk.
  18. I'm sure. Lasagna is not something I'd order on a ship. If I got something that bad, I'd just reorder. What I've had has been consistent Carnival food, for better or worse. Ironically we did order Lasagna in Stockholm along with a meatball dish. Both were good.
  19. Yep. Pretty much just an American issue now. Value wifi has been good. Let me stream a little YouTube music today. Light crowds for the most part except the always popular comedy club. Steakhouse was dead as a doornail last night. Food is good, essentially same as normal. DIY laundry is rough. Only 4 working washers for the entire ship. VeriJunk didn't work for me despite a clean clearance. Still quick boarding. Midnight pic
  20. On Pride now in the Baltic - definitely and older crowd than most Carnival cruises. Around 5%-8% masked and that includes the full butterfly lounge during the comedy club. In the Euro cities, not sure anyone cares beyond Americans.
  21. This is true but it's true about all future events. We do not know what the future holds.
