  1. The problem with being retired is forgetting what day it is!!! I will weigh tomorrow, but think that my 2.4# from the cruise is still hugging my body. It been a ok week here - I still have been having a piece of chocolate daily. Need to get more active. Did meet with my trainer yesterday and will see her again tomorrow. My daughter and family are moving out of their apartment this weekend and have bought their first home. They want to do some painting, etc before they move in - So starting Saturday we will have 4 extra people at our house for a week. Perhaps I will lose some weight ... or I might end up cooking a lot. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Jan
  2. Belle - I ate 3 (very small) reeses peanut butter cups today - I need to stop. Difficult to get back into the swing of things after a cruise. Our next one is the middle of July so I really want to be down a pound or a dozen pounds. Hope everyone is having a good week. Jan
  3. I'm back! We had a wonderful time with all the kids. We did a lovely vow renewal and everyone cried (so it was a sucess!). The cruise director was the one that did the renewal and she was lovely - even she cried. We spent a lot of time together - I think we had dinner together every night except one. I just loved watching all the kids interact. My 8 year old grandson was terrified of doing certain things before the cruise - We did caves in Bermuda - he was not a fan, but got through it. We also did dolphins and he was terrified before and ended up wanting to do it again as he had a wonderful time - he has now asked when we can all go again. Numerous people hid ducks all over the ship and seeing how it was spring break for schools in the NE there were tons of kids that found them - my grandson was so happy with kinding them! I'm sure I am up a few pounds or more. We ate alot, drank alot, but we also walked alot and were actie most days (I did play in the casino, and I think I came home with more than I went with.) We got home Friday night and on Saturday afternoon we had two policemen at our front door. My DH's sister passed away that morning at home in her sleep in Michigan. It is very sad. We are now trying to get a hold off family members. Hope everyone has a good week - Jan
  4. We are leaving early Thursday morning to go to Boston for our cruise on Friday - I will not be posting any weight loss tomorrow (probably won't have a loss). I will touch base with everyone when we get back. Izena - I owe you an email - I will catch up with you when we get back. To all - I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Jan
  5. Congratulations MTNest93 - You're doing great!!!! Jan
  6. I have squirrels that love to eat the bird seed .... We have tried so many different things to keep them off the feeders - they keep finding a way around it. They drive DH crazy!!! Been cold here, but heard that the weather will get warmer. The zipper on my winter coat just broke - time to throw the coat away ... just hoping I don't need it anymore this season. I weighed myself this morning and I am still the same. Oh well, we leave next week for our latest adventure!. Congratulations to both of you (Izena & Alabaster) on losses. Jan
  7. Welcome to the group Truepeacenik - sometimes just writing will help with staying on track on losing weight --- Jan
  8. Izena - I hope Jazzper continues to feel better!!! I weighed myself yesterday and am the same that I have been for quite awhile - at least there is no gain. Hope everyone has a good week!!! Susan - wow 30 cruises - how lovely! Jan
  9. Izena - I'm sorry that you are going through this. I understand about the candy and sweets. I am not doing well on the eating .... I stayed the same, but can't seem to lose, which I'm sure means that I am not eating the way I should. Hope others will post and let us know how you are all doing. I leave for my cruise in 20 days ... was hoping to be down, but it isn't going to happen. Jan
  10. Izena - I'm sorry you are going through this - Sounds like more walking is a good plan ... We are here if you ever want to talk! Jan
  11. Belle - I love Hawaii - Hope you have a wonderful time --- See you in April!. Jan
  12. We were back to Antigua in December for the 5th time. It was also our 3rd time at Beach Limerz. I must say that Hillary is a wonderful person and taxi driver. We had a lovely lunch and nice drinks, everything was very clean. People working there were nice. It was different from the past though and I think that we will be branching out to other beach opportunities in the future. Much more foot traffic from people who wanted to use loungers and didn't want to pay for them. Some behavior on the beach wasn't quite appropriate - perhaps only because I'm old!!! This is just my opinion and others are welcome to disagree. Jan
  13. Good Morning Izena - Thanks for starting the thread! I didn't weigh this morning, but weighed two days ago and I was the same as I have been. At least I'm not gaining! It is 31 degrees here, but is to get up to the low 40's today and the sun is out - hate seeing snow on the ground again though! Hope you have a wonderful day - also hope other people join in this week. Jan
  14. Izena - It could have been worse - I know you can get through the struggle. Nice that you get to work in the yard - I'm looking forward to the snow leaving!!! We have our youngest grandson here for the weekend - he is so funny.- I just love his laugh! Jan
  15. Belle - Thanks for starting the thread. Wonderful that you are on another cruise and that you won money also. Have a wonderful time. I did not weigh myself this morning - Perhaps I will later. Jan
  16. Izena - As a retired accountant I understand why that type of "stuff" would be very irritating - I too would use the same excuse too! (although it must be a relief to have them done for the year). I'm doing only taxes for my family and have told them that this is the last year .... I will teach them how to do their own taxes and will help guide them, but they need to learn. For about 20 years I did voluntary taxes (it was headed up by the IRS) --- I would do around 550 and it amazed me the amount of people who had high income that wanted everything for free!!! I loved helping people - but the brain isn't what it used to be. It is snowing here (It is beautiful - but it is time for it to go away!) - we leave the middle of April for a cruise to Bermuda - I am glad we aren't taking a plane as I worry about snow storms ... but we do have to get down to Boston. Yesterday was a weird day - I ate everything that I could find in the house, cashews, chocolate, butterscotch pudding, I don't know why. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Jan
  17. Belle - thanks for starting the thread - Hope you have a wonderful time on your cruise (and perhaps win a lot of money!). I will be here every week too. Izena - nice that you lost - your goal looks as if it would be doable. I didn't weigh myself this morning - perhaps tomorrow. It is snowing here and the birds are going crazy at the bird feeder - believe that we will end up having even more snow. I am so ready for spring. Have a great week all. Jan
  18. Belle - It seems as if more people are now posting on another site (won't say the name, otherwise the post might be taken down). I'm seeing very little new people. I know that all my upcoming cruises have very little posting on CC. It is too bad - I've met so many nice people over the years. I've also love coming on to the Lose thread as it has been very good for me to talk about trying to lose weight and struggling. Hopefully it will start picking up again. I will keep posting!!!! Hope you are having a good weekend. Jan PS - I seem to have a new cruise (b2b) for October, 2024. (I have a total of 7 cruises booked) - I keep saying I'm not going to book anymore --- but I think it's like chocolate!
  19. Good Morning all - I finally weighed myself this morning and I stayed the same - that is fine. Didn't have any snacks yesterday! Jan
  20. Izena - Take a deep breath - sounds like you did awesome on the dinner and on the fundraising. I am truly sorry that you are now going to have to come up with other ideas on dog care. Perhaps you will meet new people. Not too bad for a gain .... hopefully your son will stop with the snacks (I say that as I sit here thinking about chocolate and cashews --- I will probably go to bed early tonight and read for awhile. We have had our granddog here for the week - he is a very good boy and I've enjoyed having him around - he likes to sleep with me and he puts his head on my feet or has his feet touching my leg. It is very nice ... Not ready for another dog ... but I'm enjoying being able to spoil him. My son and family have been in Costa Rica .. they have had a blast and have had lots of family time - They are flying into Montreal tonight and will be here tomorrow afternoon/evening to pick up their dog .... I will miss the company. Have a wonderful evening - Jan
  21. Belle - wonderful that you lost 1/2# - that says a lot!!! Glad you got to spend some time with your "kids" - it becomes more difficult as time goes on to find time to get together. Have a wonderful week. Jan
  22. Good Morning Belle - Thanks for starting the thread. Snowing here too, but now they are saying that we may not get as much snow as they thought. I'm ready for spring!!! I got up and had coffee early this morning - perhaps will weigh later today or tomorrow - this has been a week of chocolate, so don't think there will be a loss. Jan
  23. Nice that you didn't have a gain with ice cream Belle!!! I ate fine today, just didn't get enough exercise. Maybe tomorrow! Jan
  24. I did well ... except I did find the Christmas candy and had a few pieces of chocolate ... I was happy that I didn't eat the whole bag!. Jan
