  1. I used them last year for our cruise and they were terrific! Clean vehicles, on-time and great communication. I would highly recommend them.
  2. I am going to be sailing on the Horizon in a couple of weeks and this is the first time I will be traveling with someone in a power wheelchair. I was hoping to find out from someone what time assisted debarkation begins. It is usually written in the debarkation instruction sheet left in the cabin a day or two before debarkation. Thank you so much!
  3. Has anyone done dinner at the teppanyaki recently? I am trying to figure out if it is wheelchair friendly? Do they have any spaces lower for a wheelchair diner? It would not be feasible for the person to transfer to a hightop chair.
  4. Keep checking daily. I need a fully accessible room for a wheelchair cruiser and they do pop up occasionally. Another hack that I've used is to figure out what cruise is 89 days out and see who didn't pay their balance which is due 90 days out.
  5. My teenagers loved walking around Lincoln Road. Tons of shops & restaurants.
  6. I just had my first denial on a casino rate. My cabin wasn't even free, just discounted. :(
  7. I am trying to figure out what time to have a car service pick up from the port after disembarking. Has anyone sailed recently? I am Diamond but also in a wheelchair so I was trying to figure out priority timing. Thank you
  8. I would highly recommend going to the dining room when you board the ship. It is usually open from 1-3pm so you can speak with the matrie'd and ask for a table/booth for 2. I would explain your reason and they will do their best to accommodate you. I usually have to change tables to accommodate a wheelchair. It may not happen on the first night but usually by the 2nd, we are good to go.
  9. Have you tried the SeaBand bracelet? I have used them on my daughter for years and it has been a game changer. They sell them in the drug stores or Amazon.
  10. They have lines outside according to your check-in appointment. When I went in June, they didn't enforce the times and I had the first available as a diamond passenger. Once you are inside, then they have a separate line for diamond & platinum. It was very disorganized and the outside port employees were very rude. Good Luck!
  11. I just sailed on the Sunshine last week and Carnival does NOT have the airport shuttles to the port. I actually got a referral from the Embassy Suites van driver. We had 4 people with a ton of luggage and 1 person in a wheelchair. We used Peter Li with Nandu Cab (his company) 843-330-6021. He was on time and a very clean 8 passenger van & he also has a minivan for smaller parties. I HIGHLY recommend him. He was easy to communicate with by phone & text.
  12. My daughter did this over the summer and they charged her for both trips at the beginning.
  13. The family member can transfer to a seat and I can collapse the wheelchair to be stored in the trunk. I am looking for a vehicle that will hold 5 adults, luggage & wheelchair from a hotel near the airport to the port. Thank you!
  14. I am coming to Charleston in November with a wheelchair family member. Does anyone know of a shuttle company that is ADA or has minivans? I am staying near the airport and looking for drop-off & pick up. Thank you so much for any recommendations.
