  1. So interesting that this topic came up again after a year. I currently have 11270 on Apex on hold. I'll probably bite the bullet and book. Question: Is there privacy on the balcony from above? Sometimes I like to step outside in my birthday suit.🤪
  2. I am a solo sailor trying to book an April sailing. There have not been any solo verandas available. I happened upon a sunset veranda for less than the regular infinite veranda, although still paying 100% single supplement. Would you bite the bullet or hold out for a solo to avoid paying for double occupancy? Thanks in advance!
  3. It also depends on which ship you are referring to. The Edge class has four "main dining rooms". I am a solo sailor. In my experience (post COVID), they do not do sharing tables. Millennium, Feb. 2023, I sat by myself every night. They claim people want to sit with just their family and don't want shared tables anymore. Same thing for Edge, 2022. One of the reasons I have never minded sailing alone was knowing that I would be seated with others at dinner. It gives an entirely different experience when you aren't.
  4. It wasn't necessarily a security thing. I had no problem bringing them on, I just had to carry them myself. As far as being more fragile, they were still wrapped together in the shrink plastic from the store, so no different than a 6, 12 or 24 case.
  5. I am a frequent solo sailor and it is so frustrating having to always pay double occupancy. One way around it is to sail E class in a solo IV. Right now I am patiently waiting for the current promotion to expire to see if they might have a single supplement promo. 🤞🏼
  6. When I was on Millennium 2/18 out of San Juan, I brought 4-1 gallon bottles to check with my luggage (as I had always done in the past) and was told they are not allowed to check it. I had to carry all 4 bottles on board with me. Not sure if it is a Celebrity rule or a Pan America rule, but it was definitely a rule.
  7. Food was what caused most of my anxiety trying a new cruise line. I am also considered a picky year-and say I have an onion allergy to avoid them. I went on VL earlier this year and while I mostly ate in the Galley, they accommodated EVERYTHING I asked for and were more than willing to make the accommodations. Not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing, but they would know exactly what I wanted every time I walked in. Their hospitality was terrific!
  8. So I just got off the phone with sailor services and 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 NO! They cannot bend their policy even though there was never an opportunity to fully pay 180 days out. BUT, I did ask to speak to someone who might be able to bend and after a long hold and an offer to call me back, I was informed that there is a LOYALTY discount of 10% that I am entitled to due to previously sailing with VV!! Anything helps. Jokes on them. I didn't have to pay in full yet and also opened a JetBlue Plus card earlier today, so once that comes in the mail I will also be earning air points for the remaining balance. 😎
  9. I was looking to book a Feb 2024 sailing that was just released on 9/11. I noticed that the 10% off when you pay in full offer was not showing up. I found on Google that it has to be more than 180 days until the sailing date. Ummmm, doing that math makes it impossible. I've never had the opportunity to book this sailing more than 180 days out because it was just released. Anyone have any luck convincing sailor services to still honor it if a passenger is willing to pay in full?
  10. Might not matter either way. Live view of me trying to submit my flight reimbursement.
  11. I don't remember what I have written where so excuse me if I posted this here already. I called 9/7 at 5:41 PM (1 hour long conversation) to do my rebooking and my confirmation email is time stamped today, 9/14 at 3:54 pm.
  12. Update: I have received my confirmation for my rebooking on 12/23. It was not the stateroom. I had originally requested, but I just successfully called to change it. My next concern, because why not have some first world problems, is the reimbursement for flights. If I booked round trip to Miami back in May instead of a flight into MIA and home from SJU, I am SURE the price of the flight would have been a few hundred dollars less. Is VV considering these variables when determining flight/hotel reimbursements?? My magic 8 ball is saying "are you out of your mind?". But let's wait and see how generous they decide to be with the flight/hotel reimbursements. Anyone on my Dec 23 VL Caribbean Holiday sailing, you can be very nice to me and partake in helping me use all my sailor loot- $700 bar tab+ $600 promotion+$1,000 no idea.🤯 I wish I could have used some of it for flights and/or future sailings.
  13. @kwokpotI am curious when you completed the form or called to rebook. I have heard both that VV is doing them in order they were received as well as the closer your sailing is. I rebooked on Thursday evening, my sailing is for 2023.😡 I am hesitant to rebook flights, as I am waiting for the confirmation (since $500 barely covers the bag of peanuts on the flight) and now the flight I was looking at has gone up in price!🤬
  14. @DAP2Good Afternoon! I wonder if we had the same agent.😖 The same thing happened to me. I called and rebooked on Thursday evening and by Sunday morning received an email from VV that my hold had expired! I called in a panic and the new agent said that the original agent did not enter the rebooking correctly. Luckily it was able to be fixed but I was hesitant to believe that there would not be another issue because if it happened once, it could happen twice. I am still waiting for the confirmation that everything is 100% a go. 🤞🏼
  15. Sorry I don't know how to include the message I am responding to... @Russiamomm I have the booking # and it shows in app, but they said there is no 100% guarantee I'll get the sailing and stateroom I have on hold. I asked under what conditions I would lose it and she didn't have an answer for me. There is obviously a lot going on on VV's end, but as I said I do not have the flexibility to change the week I'm sailing. I'm also hesitant to book my new necessary flights until I know I am 100% confirmed on the new sailing. @aqlollipopI didn't call until evening hours on Thursday. I guess they are only able to complete 1 hour's worth of requests per day.
  16. Good Afternoon! I originally called on Thursday evening, yes even though it said to complete the form. I am not a lucky retired one, nor do I work for myself with flexibility in scheduling vacations. The agent was able to switch me from BL 12/24 to VL 12/22. I received two emails-an on hold and then a booking confirmed. Sunday morning I woke up to an email letting me know that my hold was expiring. What!? I called again at 8:59:59 Sunday morning. That agent told me that my "held" request had been cancelled because the original agent did not enter something correctly. 🤦🏼‍♀️ She was able to "rebook" by putting another hold for 12/22 and telling me to trust the process, that it would not be cancelled again. I even went to a supervisor who said the same thing. After a 2.5 hour phone call, I asked if I am 100% guaranteed the sailing since it is on hold for me and she said NO! So even if you have a hold, it kind of means nothing. I have not heard anything back from VV, although on the app I am now able to do the 7 step check in process and view (didn't try to book) the Shore Things.🤷🏼‍♀️
  17. Exactly! I have called twice. My second call, on Sunday morning, after my rebooking had expired, I was told that the first sailor service member, Thursday evening, did not put my hold in correctly and supposedly fixed it. I asked her if I am 100% guaranteed to get that sailing and that stateroom and she told me no. I wonder when this "team" will be sorting everything out. I'm even hesitant to book new flights since nothing is guaranteed.
  18. Good Evening! I am a bit concerned. Did ANYONE get their rebooking choice confirmed today? I have read they are going in order received, but have not heard of any 100% confirmations yet. 😕
  19. I called on Thursday when I saw the cancellation of the Dec 24th sailing. Switched to Valiant Dec 24th. As of Thursday there were between 300-400 Sea Terrace available (I specifically have Central).
  20. Good Morning! I am not sure what is happening over the weekend, but I did call on Thursday evening and have a confirmed booking.
  21. Or you could call sailor services after booking and they can make the change to the cabin you prefer.
  22. Good Afternoon! I disembarked yesterday at around 8:45 am. Folio invoice was emailed at 12:29 pm.
  23. Good Morning! To add on to what others are saying...I would suggest even to go to Sailor Services to make the reservations rather than the app, which might not show availability.
  24. I am currently on the Valiant Lady AND I am the pickiest eater ever! I typically sail Celebrity, as I know they accommodate all my PITA needs. One of my biggest fears about trying VV was whether or not they would do the same. In one word, the answer is YES! I kept saying before my trip that I will either gain 15 lbs from eating pizza at breakfast, lunch and dinner OR lose 15 lbs from not eating anything. They have been absolutely phenomenal with meeting my requests. This is especially true in the Galley. The chef has specially prepared my food for me exactly the way I requested (just note it might take a bit longer). I believe the only spot that it is not possible was at the 'It's A Ship Show', which is dinner and a show.
  25. There were 4 individual gallons but when I purchase them, I ask for them from the back of the store before the plastic shrink wrap is cut off. I was able to bring it on board, but had to carry it myself.
