    Exmo Essential

Very useful information and thanks to all. We also received this amenities notation on our recent booking and I could not find any info on AZ's website to decipher it. The array of amenities is indeed a puzzle, some are itemized on our booking, some come with the type of suite we booked, some come with our tier of loyalty. It will all add up to a lot of goodies (a good thing!) but figuring it out was a puzzle. May turn out to be a puzzle on board as well as we try to take advantage of it all.
  2. All good news. Some things are more important to me than others, but still...Maybe the President has been paying attention to complaints?
  3. I had no problem on the Moon finding an available washing machine when I needed it. If you have a lot of OBC, the laundry service is a good way to use it. La Dame is OK if you have OBC to burn. Lots of dining options available with no upcharge.
  4. On our recent crossing there was a cocktail party in the early evening for World Club and one at 11:00 AM (!!!) for guests traveling in Grills class. We went to the World Club party and it was a bit dull. 11:00 is too early in the day for me to hit the sauce, so we skipped that one.
  5. We will consider Frontier on our booked QE crossing in September.
  6. Westmount: Condolences on your loss, and much support for your courage in starting this thread. We are a couple, but we have spent many hours with solo travelers on Seabourn (and other lines), over dinner, in the bar, or on excursions. The ambience on Seabourn is so social that we find that solo travelers have an easy time finding pleasant people to spend time with.
  7. Usually the excursions that you book on your own will be less expensive. This is not unique to Seabourn, but is the typical experience, Cunard, HAL, Crystal, etc. IMHO, the advantage of cruise ship excursions is the convenience of not having to shop on-line and the promise that they will get you back to the ship on time.
  8. Excellent news. We are booked for a Grand Voyage and I can anticipate that there will be evenings when we are tired and just don't want to socialize and have a long dinner. Dinner in our suite would be a nice alternative, combined with the great TV choices on Seabourn, we will be happy guys.
  9. On our very recent QM2 crossing, we phoned in our breakfast order each morning once we were awake and ready for the world. Delivery was 30 to 40 minutes. But note that we order basic continental breakfast items like coffee, juice, yogurt and fruit. Occasional cereal or pastry.
  10. So Sorry. Now I understand. I caught Covid on the QM2, but it was just before we disembarked. Still not a happy experience.

    Black suit

I wear a black suit and white shirt. No bow tie, just a conservative regular one. No one gives me any trouble or attitude.
  12. The all-day room service menu is the same for all classes.
  13. We have almost always received excellent service from the Concierge on the QM2. She or he has helped on countless things such as making dinner reservations, printing statements of room charges, printing attachments to emails, internet service problems, booking cars in ports, etc. However on the QV we found the Concierge overworked, with many many PAX lining up for help with their problems. It was hard to get the the front of the line.
  14. Fudge: So sorry this happened to you. I understand your anger. But the same thing happened to us in 2022 when Silversea cancelled our crossing and replaced it with a charter. We were given notice of this only about 5 weeks before departure, so we had to scramble to cancel our flight to Florida to pick up the ship, to cancel the hotel in Lauderdale and to find an alternative way to get to Lisbon from the States. It was stressful and I was angry for a long time.
  15. November BCN to Lisbon? Nice time of year, but it can be quite cool. Don't expect hot beach weather. Bring a sweater and a wind breaker.
  16. Disembarked from a crossing on the QM2 last week and sailed in QG. There was not DVD player in the suite.
  17. Take a walk around the ship to tour the beautiful public rooms and decide which one is your favorite. Have a drink in the Chart Room.
  18. Not sure if I quality for this comparison since we've sailed only once on SS, on the Moon. Seabourn is our favorite line because of the conviviality, but we were extremely pleased with the Moon, especially the food and the number of different dining choices. We prefer the entertainment on Seabourn, but did very much enjoy the jazz duo in the Silver Note lounge on the Moon. We are booked on SB for 2023 and 24, and will happily return to one of SS's bigger ships for the right itinerary, such as a crossing. BTW, I am a Yankee and I say "y'all." Guess I should not stand near Mr. L. He may throw his cocktail at me!
  19. Hooray! Can't wait! Long overdue!
  20. Internet, internet, internet! They so desperately need to upgrade the system, include more routers so that you can actually use the internet in your stateroom. But most importantly, some lines (like Silversea) are using a new satellite service that provides a quality connections that approaches what you get at a hotel on land. Not perfect, but quite usable. Cunard is behind the times and if the line wants to attract a younger crowd, especially on a QM2 crossing, then good internet is essential. Otherwise the young people will not return.
  21. Internet service on Cunard seems to never ever get any better. Lower your expectations.
  22. Mr.TV here: Yes we all need to know and understand our history so that the problems are not lived again, which unfortunately is happening for trans people right now. On the other hand, we do love the Seabourn experience, have 2 major sailings scheduled. And we hope that you will love it as well.
  23. Great reference! Who knew??
