Sort of like splitting them to make baked stuffed lobster.
Yes, exactly. I had to leave the room.

Broiling it is actually very easy and fast. And it turns out very tasty as well. I envy you and all those from the east coast where lobster is so fresh and plentiful.

Grilled is very good also. But you have to buy the just the tails. We tried it last summer with live lobsters. Not fun separating the tail from the body when they’re still alive. I’ll leave that to someone else.

The final piece in settling things for my Dad, who passed away Feb 2020 is filing his income taxes for 2020. I’m an only child, my Mom passed away years ago & although my Dad remarried in 2012 they had a pre-nup so essentially nothing went to wife #2. Dad did a good job of having all his accounts in his name & mine and had deeded his house to me in 2002. So back to the taxes. Being retired career military he received a monthly pension from the government that was auto deposited to his bank account. The last deposit was made and then quickly pulled back out due his passing. Now to the present, I never received a 1099 form for the one month of income last year (Jan 2020). I call the DOD finance division and they tell me they can’t issue one because they never received a death certificate. Funny they didn’t need a death certificate to pull back that February payment! So I faxed it a month ago. Still waiting 🤔

@Tree_skierAre you familiar with the composition called The Station, by Robert Hastings? I think you’d enjoy it.

Decided it was time for something stronger than wine, made a pitcher of mojitos. Happy I could fine fresh mint leaves at local produce store.
My favorite. Sounds like it was well deserved today.

LOL I never seem to win any argument.
DH would say that sounds familiar. He spent his childhood vacations in a pop-up tent trailer with his parents & two siblings. He’s tried several times to sway me to try it but camping’s not for me. It’s not an argument he’s going to win.
We do love a road trip so I can see the appeal, but any vacation for me means hotels and no cooking or cleaning. And cruising of course!-

I highly suspect I would bore your husband to death. He would be on vacation and all I would want to talk about is flying planes... and I'm talking details... I want all the steps to get a 787 from 36,000 to the gate.😯😊
Same here. I have a love/hate relationship with flying. I’m fascinated by it, yet I hate to fly. I think it’s because I don’t understand how it works & what all the noises and sensations are. If only I could sit in the cockpit and have the pilot explain everything!

Oh absolutely! They are the highest rated B&B in St. Augustine, which has something close to 30 different B&Bs there. Stayed at Bayfront Wescott, just across the street from the water. Really fantastic service and attention to detail. Decadent breakfast!
Parked our vehicle once dropping off our luggage they brought up to the room, then never used it until 3 days later. Everything is walking distance...unless you want to go to the beach, which we opted not to due to very heavy tourist time (spring break/bike week). Surprisingly quiet at night there, since not directly on main drag.
We dined at Collage...excellent! Had lunch at Meehans...would not recommend. There are many good restaurants in the area.
Thank you! We’re hoping to head down to FL for a couple of weeks mid-May as long as DH has received his vaccine. Will definitely check them out.

Thanks! Indeed it was nice to get away. The B&B we stayed at is a favorite of ours, they have fantastic service. 👍
Would you share the name of it? And any restaurant recommendations you might have. We love St Augustine. Have only been there for the day. Ate at Harry’s Seafood which was pretty good, mostly loved the atmosphere in their outdoor dining courtyard.

Also Happy birthday to your wife @grapau27.
Today is my wife and I's anniversary. So we share a celebratory day Graham. I'm taking today off we are going to Texas de Brazil to celebrate. I have to work Sunday so Monday night were having a little gathering with friends and family to celebrate as well. My son-in-law will be smoking Tri-tip. Between tonight and Monday Tuesday should see me in a meet coma.
Happy Anniversary! In our family, we refer to too much beef as “getting the meat sweats”.

This is the current state of affairs in our backyard. (ugh so ugly & brown right now) Landscapers expect to start laying the paver apron at the end of this month, then black iron fencing around it. If anyone has pool pictures they’d be willing to share, I’m looking for inspiration. We have a rough sketch including walkway to the deck & patio but it’s not the same as as actual photos.

Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Beautiful pictures. I lived in San Pedro from 1967 to 1968 when my Dad was in Vietnam and have been to Cabrillo Beach. It wasn’t as nice back then as it appears to be now. I remember there being some type of small military base nearby, my Mom used to go the the commissary there. Also visited family in San Pedro many times, sometimes for months at a time while my Dad attended special military trainings.
