  1. I cannot speak to the frequency of this happening, but my company issued a notice a couple of years ago warning business travelers about this practice at CBP. We were informed not to carry confidential information on our computers, only access that information through our secured servers and VPNs. If we were pulled aside, we were to comply to their requests to open our electronic devices for their inspection. Upon return to the office or plant, to immediately surrender our computer to IT and not to turn it on connected to our network.
  2. Go to your set sail pass and scan the bar code with a QR reader. The last digits will be your room assignment.
  3. As @Tree_skier says, just ask for it. On the Explorer they have replace the sausage casing bags with paper. A little more challenging to get 35 lbs of dirty laundry in with out a tear.
  4. I believe the first time we attempted to use a day 8 coupon was last year Christmas on the Adventure. The subsequent 4 cruises we successfully received Bailey's in our coffee and mimosas in the MDR at breakfast.
  5. Challenge accepted! LOL We typically either stay an extra day or have a late flight out after a cruise. So instead of fighting for breakfast in the Jam, we have a leisurely meal in the MDR. Our last cruise on the Explore in November, we had multiple mimosas at breakfast. Now I am sure we did not use all our coupons, but we did have the opportunity to do so.
  6. I guess I missed those discussions. I will have first hand knowledge next month. If this is a ship specific policy, then perhaps someone can start a thread to report which ships have coupons and which do not on disembarkation day.
  7. Didn't this policy just start on sailings starting yesterday (16th of December)?
  8. Since these coupons were implemented, we have been getting Bailey's in our coffee and mimosas in the MDR on disembarkation day. I hope the move to a 5am restart still reloads your card to enjoy our breakfast.
  9. I can see the new thread coming already..."Laundry Machine Hogs!" 🤣
  10. The scene when you returned for a visit? 😂
  11. I remember stopping off for a coffee run once. When I got back to the shop I grabbed my tea and it smelt funny. Opening the lid they have used coffee instead of hot water. LOL
  12. Not a fan of Timmy's anything. I find the coffee weak as I drink it black not the typical Double-Double. If I were out craving a coffee I would settle for a McDonalds coffee. As for the discussion of Johnny's, I used to rave about it. We were on the Allure just before the Covid shutdown and bragged to my friend that this place as the place. Had a very underwhelming burger that I was embarrassed about since I pumped it up so much. So probably not return as I can get the same if not better burger in the Jammer. However, the Royal Burger they serve in the MDR at lunch is well worth it. And there is not upcharge for it.
  13. Yes you can set up a wake up call on the phone. Also if you have a cell phone, you can set that as well.
  14. Can we get it to 5 pages? Do I see 5 pages, anyone?
  15. So I have been thinking about my personal experience that I mentioned earlier. The 750 ml or 1 l bottle I had purchased spilled into my suitcase and my clothes absorbed it. The suitcase was not wet, at least from what I remembered. There was glass (obviously), which I remember shaking out of the bottom of my bag. So how much wine was in this person's suitcase to leak out and soak the op's 2 suitcases anyway? And it would be pretty easy to track down the culprit since they would be either sending in a lot of laundry or walking around the ship with a reddish hue on their clothes.
  16. Thanks for the clarification, I thought this was new so people can play longer at the slots. 🤣
  17. I have a confession to make. Back on the Jewel in 2006, I purchased a bottle of banana rum for a friend back in Canada. I put it in my checked luggage expecting it to be confiscated. Doesn't bag show up at our door. So when I opened it I asked my wife, "Do you smell bananas?" Well didn't the bottle break and all my clothes absorbed the liquor. So if anyone is on these boards and your bag was received smelling of bananas, please accept my deepest apologizes.
  18. Actually our Uber driver did get lost and didn't listen to our instructions. He was more interested at yelling at Florida drivers than driving. 😂
  19. We were on the Explorer last month and we sailed out of G.
  20. Ok, good to know TD have upgraded the experience. You are correct that RBC Bank uses PNC bank in the US. It was handy when we disembarked in Boston and I was able to deposit our casino cash winnings into a PNC ATM. But I was right across the street for the TD North arena so I am sure a TD machine would have been just as easy.
  21. You have reminded me of something. Several years back DW and I noticed that beer prices were different around the ship. We found the cheapest beer at Johnny Rocket. Not sure if this is still the case, however, on our next cruise we will investigate if this is still the case.
  22. With RBC Bank moving money between the US and Canada is seamless. Just like moving money between you accounts and the transaction is immediate. Last time I looking into TD, you had to wire your money to the US. Is this still the case or have they made it easier?
  23. I am told bitcoin is a great way of transferring funds without exchange rate fees. However I don't know the fees required to purchase and sell bitcoin nor do I know the exact details on performing this action. I just know my friend who is into bitcoin has done this to transfer funds from his home sale here in Mexico to his bank in Austria.
