  1. Loved your refreshing writing style and balanced comments. Thank you for taking the time to post them!
  2. It was on board only in May/June on the Pursuit. Just a suggestion… you may want to ask this in a new thread with an appropriate title vs. on p.6 of this one.
  3. Would it kill Carol to send out an update (or post here) about the status of problems, their plan to have things fixed, and when we can expect the pre cruise experience to be back to 100%. Gee wiz! What a management team!
  4. Yes, they got it wrong (i.e., not correct). They are giving away cash that they shouldn’t be. Great management and a well run company that instills confidence! And I received OBC only after about 6 hours total of my time over 4 days standing in lines at Reception, talking/emailing with my travel agent, AZ talking/emailing with Miami, and who knows what else. Those of us with OBC issues really had to be persistent in order to have it posted to our account. I was ok dealing with it, but there were so many disgruntled guests on board. It was embarrassing at times,
  5. Never… even after a very good Pursuit cruise in May/June. That cruise was booked during the RCCL days (including excursions). They never got my OBC correct on board, but luckily gave me several hundred dollars more than what they were supposed to. How many other accounting errors are they making like that which is potentially costing the company lots of needed $$$$. My online account still shows my late May cruise listed as upcoming (it's now almost August!) but with red error messages all over the screen. Loyalty points are still wrong. Past cruise history still not available. No executive level suite communications about the status of issues and resolution plan for many, many weeks now. And all the "sale" emails, travelers reporting far less than full occupancy on ships…. hmmmmm. It's not just not worth the hassle or risk anymore with Azamara. There are much better alternatives out there, at least right now.
  6. Not my experience on other ships, and I'm pretty much a daily swimmer. I'd guess they've been kept around 82-83F.
  7. Looks like it's time to RE-SUBMIT any problems not resolved from previous emails/tickets! Pass it back to the customer to create more work for them. What a load of malarky this company is! Email received today: Dear Valued Guest, We hope this letter finds you well. At our contact center, we strive to provide prompt and efficient assistance to all our valued guests. However, due to the high volume of inquiries, we were unable to respond to your inquiry in real time, and for that, we apologize. 8. It's definitely worth checking to see if the switch makes sense. I just did so (for a PH3 in January 2025) for $500USD total for two. Previously under OLife I chose 4 shore excursions p/p (no drinks). So for $500USD we received $1000 shore excursion credit + the lunch/dinner beverage package. A good deal for us on an 18-night itinerary.
  9. It's now been more than three months since the system transition, and my AZ online account is still wrong — points, upcoming cruises, and past cruise history. Had a great cruise on the Pursuit in late May/early June (only 80% full) - booked while RCCL was still the owner. And now lots of AZ promotional emails, sales, extra nights etc. And not a word from Azamara's illustrious management team about where things stand and when they will be fixed. It was interesting to talk to staff on board who clearly were instructed to say, pretty much without exception, that the web site and account issues will be cleared up "in two weeks." That was back on May 26. As much as I'd love to book another cruise with AZ based upon by experiences on the Pursuit, I wouldn't give this company a dime right now. They are clearly still struggling mightily to right the ship.
  10. Overall, the entertainment on Celebrity as superior to Azamara. I just got off the Pursuit earlier this month, and the entertainment was most definitely ho-hum. There was one great comedian, but the music-focused shows were, to be polite, uninspiring. The Den’s piano man played the same music for 14 nights, as did the House Band… lots of eye rolling by the guests. That said, the shows were well attended and many seemed to enjoy them. Entertainment is not important for us, as we much prefer to socialize and enjoy the ship’s amenities vs. attending shows/events.
  11. Lots of quantity and lovely displays (plus outstanding service), but we found the food quality was just so-so and not that impressive for a line at the “Premium” level. Guests were mostly commenting that if was Good, but not Great.
  12. Good Luck! 🍀 That guy’s comment still makes me laugh! Do enjoy your journey!
  13. The worst experience in 50+ cruises. They were unloading luggage with a lift/cage that held about 40 bags at a time. One small container/cage at a time. It was laughable. We left the ship about 8:10 per instructions over the PA system. Luggage got off loaded around 9:30 and we had to stand around until then. Good thing the weather was cooperative, because guests were majorly P***ed! I bet people missed flights. And then no cabs, no Ubers, and 100-150 people in a long taxi line. Omg. One of the longshoremen said to me this morning… when leaving a cruise ship, some people say Have A Nice Day! Well in Dublin, we say Good Luck! 😂 True story.
  14. You’re welcome. I can pretty much guarantee you an awesome time. The only thing that needs a little improvement IMHO is the food quality, but I know that’s very subjective. It was all fine, just not memorable or at the luxury level. Service, however, was consistently outstanding… EVERYWHERE! Disembarkation was a disaster this morning with delayed luggage, a line for cabs that was at least 100 people long (I kid you not), and several other missteps. It was a shame to have so many guests grumbling after everything else was handled so well. Bon Voyage!
  15. Oh, and Bordeaux was wonderful BTW. Just a great spot to explore and enjoy!
  16. This a pic of the Pursuit from this past Saturday. Literally the ship is across the street from the downtown and prime area, and was docked overnight. It was perfect and allowed for multiple trips on and off the ship for exploring, eating, and drinking.
  17. In Milford Haven, Wales. A glorious afternoon on the last day of a FANTASTIC 14 night cruise from Barcelona to Dublin. So well done by everyone from start to finish, and kudos to the BRILLIANT crew on board! Thank you so, so very much!
  18. All the time in the travel and countless other industries. The shoreside C-suite management team needs to go, and with urgency, for the sake of the brand and all of the truly exceptional crew and the service they deliver on board.
  19. Yes! Bring your paper documentation. It took many days to get it sorted out,
  20. Absolutely beautiful on the sail in down the river to Bordeaux.
  21. I can almost guarantee you an exceptional time. One tip: don’t bring many dressy clothes. It’s tasteful but casual in the evenings. Much more than I remember… which I LOVE!
  22. Complimentary shuttle transportation to town is once again provided in Bilbao, Spain today. Everything remains absolutely excellent on board Pursuit after 8 nights. 6 more to go. Azamazing evening is tonight with a late departure at 10pm.
  23. You could have probably walked through. The crew has been so fantastic the entire time. When I say that, I mean at the very top of their game without exception. They all deserve such incredible praise for the exceptional experience they are delivering every day.
  24. I don’t know. Leaving beautiful Lisbon on the sail-away with that wonderful venue closed to the rest of the ship for dinner. I could see maybe on a sea day or something less spectacular than departing at dinner time from Lisbon. I’ve heard several guests grumbling about it… a day later.
  25. I know this is a controversial comment, but the smokers (incl cigars at times) really make the Pool Bar and adjacent tables unusable at certain times of the day. On such a small ship with the overhang, it’s very unpleasant and a shame that the 10-20 smokers are allowed to monopolize this otherwise lovely space. The Pool Bar bartenders health is also being put at risk which is a darn shame in this day and age.
