  1. HI All,

Just returned 8/20/17-8/27/17 Allure of the Seas - Port Everglades - after reading tips from this site we purchased a case (24) of water at Walgreens and taped a bag tag on the top, checked it in with our checked bags. It was delivered intact. The risk reward is worth the try. RCL will charge you over $80 for the same 24 pack we bought for $1.99. No brainer

  2. Just returned 8/20-8/27 Allure of the Seas - Port Everglades - and we did not need custom forms. Super fast disembarkation. They called bag tag numbers 1-30, we disembarked deck 5, two locations, picked up our bags, showed Customer Officer our passports/birth certificate and out the terminal.

BTW - one of the best cruises to date, the boat is awesome

  3. I am on the Allure this Sunday, Aug. 6th (Eastern Caribbean). I just received an email this evening notifying me of a slight change in our itinerary. We are now leaving Nassau one hour earlier and arriving in St. Thomas one hour later than originally scheduled. They said it was due to a "small speed restriction". The other day, i read something here on CC about the Allure having a problem with one of its azipod propellers, but I thought they said it had been repaired. It could be that they are still having issues with the azipod and are not able to cruise at their normal speed. This could explain the discrepancy in the times on your itinerary.

Hi, please pass on any information when you get it, we will be on Allure 8/20 thanks

  4. Hi All - when we booked our Allure the promotion at the time included dinner at one specialty restaurant. I understand this can only be reserved once on board and only on port days, Do we have to wait until we get to our cabin to see if there is a letter with instructions, or do we just go ahead and reserve once on board and present our letter when we arrive for our dinner

  5. Hi all - first time on Allure - we are a group of 12 (6 cabins). When reserving MTD for 6:30 pm the cruise planner would not allow two of our reservations to link with the other four. There was something wrong with the site at that time. So we have a group of 8 and a group of 4 for the same MTD at 6:30. How can we change this to a party of 12 so we all sit together.

Do we go to the dining room or Guess Services

Do we need a sea pass card from each cabin.

Can one person do this for the the group.

  6. Even thought they are testing requiring everyone 21 and older in a cabin to purchase the beverage pkg, it will be pushed out to all ships You can bet on it.

I am sure they track the number of drinks and frequency. If you analyze the data you can come up with the conclusion people are sharing. You noticed they don't go and review the number of times a person drinks less than the break even point. I say make it 15 per day and if you don't use it you can carry it to the next cruise.

Next loophole to close is Parents/child reservation, the family of 4 with 2 minors. Mom and child booked in one, Dad and child booked in another. Here Dad or Mom can buy the package and share with the other parent if they want to.

  7. Hi all, I just booked JR for Aug 20, 2017 transportation from the port to FLL. I called about their cancellation policy since it required a CC to book the reservation. They said CC will be charge 24 hrs before pick up. I hope this helps.

  8. Bring on a bottle of champagne.

Get orange juice from the buffet the day before. Keep it on ice with the champagne in your cabin.

Voila! You will have mimosas as early as you like. Or as late as you like. :D :D :D

thanks we plan that too, the cruise compass says Cafe Promenade has limited selection at 7am

  9. The beverage packages seem fairly pricey to me. I typically won't have more than 1-2 beers or glasses of wine in a day. My wife may have numerous glasses of wine? At what point do you think the drinking packages actually pay for themselves?

In addition, what beverages are provided as part of the cruise package without there being a charge?

    Thanks?

I like the convenience of the package, I know I will have 5-6 drinks per day, maybe more. The biggest fun killer is the drink prices sticker shock, Bud Light (and domestic alike) are $7.25 for a 16oz can, or $8.56 with tip, mimosas $10.03 with tip. It adds up fast. Say you want to try the Strawberry Daiquiri $9.95 or $11.74 with tip. 3 beers, 2 Daiquiris and 1 Mimosa - $59. Sounds like a fun day to me.

I purchased my package on sale for $48 per day or $57 with tip.

  10. My wife received her newly renewed passport today (6/29/17). The application was mailed on 6/16/17 via USPS Priority Mail, with routine processing requested. I was impressed with the quick turnaround time. I don't know if this is typical or not, but here's a data point if anyone is interested.

    David

That is great, my renewal is still processing now on week 7
