  1. Now that I read this post, I find we are on the same page and re-read your other post more as I'm sure you intended it to be read.
  2. Cruised the Grand to Hawaii in March this year. I recall seeing a taxi in Kauai, but not other ports. But then, I wasn't looking. The port shuttles were running, Walmart and Hilo Hatties. Taking those, we enjoyed walking to places nearby, but I understand this is not what you want. Related to what you ask, we planned to rent scooters on Maui, (Kahului) knowing about the rental car shortage. When we got there, the scooter place was not to be found. The usual place was also gone on Kauai. So, if you do rent, don't plop down a deposit online. They may not be there. Scooters, there's a thought. You didn't say when you plan to go, but as of March, Hawaiian tourism had not recovered and prices on everything were very high, compared to Los Angeles. We were so happy to get back to cruising, but it's going to be awhile for things to return to pre-Covid.
  3. American ethnocentrism. It's their restaurant, their ship sailing under the flag of Bermuda, in international waters. Not the local McDonald's. They can ask you to wear what they want. An adult should know how to dress if and when requested and the younger crowd needs to learn to be respectful when travelling.
  4. A thread about it here with pictures for anyone interested. I drove by it a few months ago. What a shame. Property is rotting and rusting away. Should be prime real estate. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2791137-til-today-i-learned-that-princess-owned-a-resort-hotel-in-oxnard-ca-in-the-80s/#comment-61471017
  5. We were there in 2016. A hamburger was $25. Buffet breakfast was $19. Linking a menu: https://restaurantguru.com/King-Salmon-McKinley-Park/menu
  6. You did say, "any." If I could offer any one piece of advice about an Alaska Cruisetour, it would be to highly recommend going the Connoisseur package. Paying for all meals on land was suprisingly expensive, with few options. It is the only thing I wish we had done differently.
  7. Good catch! Had a familiar ring about it. You thought to check.
  8. Some say, "One size fits small."
  9. I am in league with you on this after our recent cruise. Which cruise line would be your go-to from here? I see Stone is near Liverpool. Would you try Fred Olsen, Costa or Hurtigruten out of that port? We are near Los Angeles. Many lines port here, but having trouble selecting which line to try. I see you've cruised Cunard, which ports here sometimes. Would you recommend trying them? (We don't mind dressing for dinner.)
