Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were on Bliss mid September (Alaska) and Dinner with Officers was offered. Had dinner with a HR person and an engineer.
  2. I have been trying to reach my PCC for three days on a time sensitive issue. I am guessing he is ghosting me as he did once before when I booked our next cruise while on a cruise with the assurance that he would get credit for it (he did not hence the ghosting). He has booked numerous cruises for us and for friends we referred to him. I don’t have a lots of tolerance for this lack of professionalism. Any suggestions for reaching someone else?
  3. We are just off the Bliss in Alaska and I do not recommend for the rainy season of September. The weather forced everyone into the indoor spaces and NCL did nothing about the multitudes of people and children stretched out and sleeping on the couches all day long. There was no getting a seat in the buffet at any time of the day. Port stops were short putting people back on the ship at lunch time and the waits were 45 minutes unless the venue closed sooner. The rough sea one night cancelled Six. Those reservations were pushed to another day which meant the Beatles full three set performance was cancelled. We could not get off in Victoria because of mechanical problems with gangway. It happens but only one bar was allowed to be open on each level while sitting there. We sailed on Bliss through Panama Canal and loved it. This trip was a total miss.
  4. I would respectfully disagree with those who say the Vibe is not necessary on the Prima. As others have noted it is not crowded, never a search for a comfortable lounge and an attentive bar staff. The buffet is just outside the door to the Vibe so super easy to pick up lunch and enjoy outside at one of the tables. On our cruise last February there were many unhappy people because of the lounge situation by the pools. We have already booked Vibe for Viva in February 24.
  5. When we did the Baltic last year from Copenhagen we were picked up from the airport and met at the hotel by NCL representatives. And Copenhagen is fabulous - just watch out for the bike lanes.
  6. It was a gift and should be accepted graciously. A good butler should be totally invisible unless you ask for something. You will never know who in the Haven has real money and who does not unless you can tell by demeanor. Relax. Enjoy your vacation just being yourself and seeing your wife’s children doing something for their mother and the man she chooses to spend her life with.
  7. We have booked our London accommodation through Cunard and our itinerary indicates transportation to London is provided. Can anyone tell me what method of transport is used and what time arrival in London might be. Trying to plan for the afternoon. Many thanks.
  8. Agree just had sole in Le Bistro on Prima and it was excellent
  9. After having the best sleep in forever - no achy joints - I called NCL to find out what the mattress was. They referred me to the company that makes the mattress. That representative asked what ship and what stateroom. Turns out there is a whole website of pillows and mattresses supplied to NCL (and many other ships). Not inexpensive but bought the mattress and now I can’t wait to get home from travels to sleep on my own bed.
  10. My apologies - clueless as to why this posted twice.
  11. My revised schedule shows Juneau departure now 8 pm instead of 1:30.
  12. Any thoughts on why at this early date the Dawes Glacier- Endicott Arm port would already have been cancelled on a scheduled September 16 Bliss departure from Seattle? For those who have visited this port on NCL Alaska schedules is this a significant loss? Thanks for any thoughts.

  14. I have used the same PCC for a couple of years and he has earned my loyalty through several things he has done or caught on bookings. We were on the Getaway in the Baltic in June and asked specifically if my PCC would get credit for the booking while on board. I was repeatedly told yes. Once home I waited a few weeks and sent an email to my PCC asking if he in fact had received the credit. He had not and graciously said not to worry about it. I insisted on cancelling and rebooking and in the course of that rebooking saved more than $800 in things the CN desk had overlooked.
  15. There are also three Getaway Baltic sailings still a go for May and June of 2022. For better or worse we will be on June 5 sailing.
