  1. Yup, that's the one. Our driver charged the two of us 20 bucks, one way. And I ignorantly gave him a tip on top of that. 😕
  2. Be careful of the taxi drivers. The price per car load to go to Nachi is clearly printed on the clapboard outside the port/terminal (where you hail the taxi). This last one upped the price over the listed price, which we did not catch until too late once I thought about it when we got back and I glanced at the sign again. From now on I will repeat/clarify with the driver as I get into the taxi as to the listed price.
  3. Thank goodness we are not all alike....it would be like a world with only one flavor of ice cream. 😲 Good for you it works for you. Myself and Bucky...we stock our pocket with "tip kits". I fold sets of two single dollar bills twice in half, and the single 5 dollar bills for all meals which are stacked in our back pockets. No fumbling for us either. 😉
  4. In an honest discussion with several crew members, they all told us they very much dislike the 2.00 bills, as they have limited use for them. Naturally they won't refuse them, accepting them with a smile to be polite...but it is not what they want. What is so hard about simply giving them two one dollar bills?
  5. Once, we simply folded up a piece of scrap paper and left it in the holder for two weeks for our B2B.
  6. I agree. I think the SL concierge may have been happy to charge off our drinks to C&A. Definitely did not make it right...but since free is free....did not have to take issue with it. Though I probably should have done so.
  7. And here on Jewel...also is for Pinnacles allowed in the CL (we are under the threshold for total Pinnies, thus allowed into the CL this last couple of weeks). We are in a JS...not full suite. No rhyme or reason it seems.
  8. Seems, IMHO...to be ship specific. On Wonder, we were in a GS for four weeks (which included the TA). Even though we were full suites guests...the SL continued to charge our vouchers for the drinks every night. I would have taken issue with that, but we never go over our six per person drink vouchers anyway. Here on Jewel, we are enjoying the CL over our usual VCL bar for happy hour. It is just much quieter in there for this last couple of sailings. They never charge our vouchers in there, and we are in a JS.
  9. Thanks! I hope it is still there when we finally are able to get on board. 🙂
  10. Twice due to Covid, once when replaced with Wonder for the twice around the Med and staying on for the TA last fall. But that was actually a good cancellation. Was awarded GS cabin I booked for the 4 weeks at Allure pricing. 😉
  11. No, never really needed it. I have international plan if I want to use it...pretty good deal with AT&T. If you do use it, it's 10.00 a day...only for the day you actually use it. May do WIFI calling on our WC, and the new itineraries I have booked around the globe beyond that. I can use AT&T in Mexico and Canada, with no added fees. Using email only, I booked Australia circumnavigation with Viking yesterday. I do email way more than actual phone calls.
  12. Ahh...OK, thanks. That leaves me out again. Oh well, getting used to the thought of living in a closet for couple months at a time. At least we do have a balcony, and not "in the bilge". 😄 On a more related thread topic, can immediately tell the cabin attendants are overwhelmed with the larger load of cabins this week on Jewel. Though it does not affect us being in a suite, morning service is an hour or two later than usual, and the attitudes of the usually happy attendants we met last week in the hallways (before the once a day went into effect this week) are more stressed out and not as relaxed and happy. Shame. New, much smaller, carts they are using now as well. Which one attendant we had last month, told us it made no sense. More cabins to do, smaller carts. 😞
  13. I just found John's message on this board this morning. First I heard of it. I already stated..will call this afternoon. Out to sea right now on Jewel...no cell signal until this afternoon.
  14. How do you find out about the availability? I know not possible online, but perhaps Ken is keeping you informed? Naturally I am only interested in half the WC, former 1st and 4th leg. There must be very slim pickings for the individual 17 smaller legs.
  15. Really? Thanks...will have phone service this afternoon, and will call. We pull into San Juan at 2:30.
  16. And that is exactly what they allow....JS as suites for embarkation. And thanks for the correct name of the port...as Port Canaveral...not "Orlando" 😉
  17. First two times...Covid related. Third time, Wonder replaced Allure for the last of the Med cruises and then staying on for the west bound TA. Though we once again missed seeing Momma Mia...the change of ship keeping the GS cabin for 4 weeks at no additional cost....definitely did not break my heart. 😉
  18. Our set sail pass for JS on Jewel for first leg (currently on second leg) listed suite. Or at least I think it did...then again I don't really pay attention any longer.
  19. No, I meant the Allure ship sailing itself was cancelled on us 3 times.
  20. Did not affect us, being in a JS....but would have chosen evening. We really don't need the morning service. And we always suggest no service on TAD...but they still seem to come in any way.
  21. Allure had been cancelled on us three times. Drats...the one Broadway show I really wanted to see. 😞
  22. Ironically, the one cruise we would most have liked a suite...is the longest one and can't have it. By the time we were able to book 1/2 of the world cruise, which was originally two legs of the four legs, (after the whole 274 pax cruisers had their pick and choose) we could not (and still can't) book anything over a regular balcony cabin. Otherwise...yes, we book a JS as a minimum with a lot of GS, OS, and rare CLS cabins tossed in.
  23. Indeed what Todd said. If you look at your set sail pass, it simply states "Suite". Does not discriminate from JS and up.
