  1. That sucks. Had a bout with them a couple years ago, definitely a pain like no other. The only pain med that worked for me was morphine via an IV. Hope they pass quickly.
  2. We drive down. I was buying enough to pay for gas on the drive down and back and then excursions at the ports. Miss those days.
  3. Loved it back in the early 2010's when we could by OBC at 1.10 vs 1.40 at the bank. current rate is 1.335
  4. Purchase OBC directly and it will be added to their account on board. It is refundable if they do not spend it. Call Gifts and Gear 800.722.5443
  5. Big shocker that next cruise gave you the wrong information. You started in Brisbane. That is all that matters. you could sail as long as you like and end anywhere and you would not be in violation of the PVSA as the PVSA only applies to cruises where your initial embarkation port is a US port. As I mentioned I had two clients (one on your sailing), that carried on and did the first Alaska cruise.
  6. Yes, that is what the cruiseline classifies midship cabins as to determine pricing of the categories. Has nothing to do with movement
  7. Not sure if they were ever available but they are showing at that price and waitlisted
  8. Not typically and with a 9 night sailing I would not be concerned
  9. On Q class midship extends beyond the forward and aft elevators where on other classes it is primarily determined by elevator locations. Between the two red lines cabins are classified as midship.
  10. Its amazing how many people have sailed with Royal before yet don't have C&A numbers or don't enter them on their reservation when they book. I think it takes quite a few people 2 to 3 sailings before they realize they should be adding their numbers to their booking. Just booked a family of 5 yesterday snd only one had a C&A number yet they had all sailed a couple of times.
  11. The app is not correct until you board. Change the sailing to the current weeks sailing and look at the restaurants open hours for day 1 to get an accurate picture of what will be open.
  12. That sailing is perfectly fine. Starts in Sydney ends in Seattle. 100% no issues, I had 2 clients do this exact itinerary this past May. Yours wasn't as it started in LA and ended in Seattle....started in one US port ended in a different US port and did not visit a distant foreign port.
  13. Take your seapass card from the first Mariner sailing and see the Loyalty ambassador on your new sailing and they will manually update your status
  14. You are still looking at it as comparing a room with 2 adults to a room with 4 people. Look at the cost of the room with 4 adults to the cost of the room with 2 adults and 2 kids to give you an idea of the savings. The difference in pricing between double occupancy and quads is not going away so there is no point in comparing the two.
  15. It is not just registering the ship in the US. The ship (hull) must be manufactured in the US and then the ship needs to employ Americans.
  16. No. You can do a trip that starts in one US city and ends in a different US city as long as it visits a "distant" foreign port. Distant being the key word, meaning one of the ABC islands or something further South. The other exception is a sailing starting or ending in San Juan as there is an exception for San Juan.
  17. The only thing I was pointing out was that Vancouver is irrelevant to the OP's original question and has no bearing on determining whether that cruise was or was not in violation of the PVSA
  18. You don't even want to see the Canadian $ pricing.😮
  19. Actually I have not noticed this. What you are seeing is a comparison between a double occupancy cabin and a quad occupancy cabin where there has always been a difference in the price of the first 2 guests. That pricing difference is simply due to supply and demand as there are a lot fewer quad cabins on most Royal ships I have repriced numerous bookings when KSF was added and seen substantial savings for clients. to compare apples to apples price out 4 adults in a room vs 2 adults and 2 kids and you can see the savings are indeed real. You want to see supply and demand at work then check out pricing on the Icon for March 2025 the first week where it is a KSF. A double occupancy balcony is starts at $6855 for 2 adults. Add in 2 kids under KSF and the price of a comparable balcony is $6476. Icon has 80% of its rooms designed for quad occupancy, a complete turnaround form other ships in the fleet
  20. No real differnce than the protectionism over flights
  21. With the huge increase in demand and the corresponding uptick in pricing I'm not sure that Royal will be jumping on sending multiple ships to China right away. I think it will be a cautious approach
