  1. Just disembarked yesterday from the Journey. On line and on the ship, they keep boasting about being Amazed. On the ship there was no information about the new changes in the LCV program. I was certainly amazed when I connected to Internet at home. Checking email for my Azanara survey, I was amazed when I read the email announcing the new changes. Needless to say, I am not Amazed. The amazing cruise critic reception was almost nonexistent...about 10 minutes with no way to introduce ourselves thank you for coming...and now leave. Welcome to the Journey? On other cruises we got to pass the microphone around to tell our online names . It was a great place to meet other cruise critics that did not happen. It seems like Azamara dislikes cruisecritic. Lots of people on the cruise said that they would express their opinions about the poor reception for cruise critics.

I totally agree Roberta. We have travelled 4 times now with Azamara so know what normally happens at these events.

I keep reading that there needs to be a minimum number for CC meetings to happen. Well, Tony Markey, our Cruise Director announced that there were 80 something people had signed up for the meeting (there was actually not that number present) , he then said that normally the microphone would be passed round so we could all introduce ourselves, however there was too many people to do that so "just talk amongst yourselves" and left!!!!!

I did corner him about it the following day...obviously I was not the first!! He had no excuse.

It was a disgraceful way to treat a great many people who support Azamara.

Not surprising really following the recent announcement of the cancellation of all the worthwhile perks of the LCV programme.

So to all of you who don't have the required number signed up...don't worry 'cos if it's no better than we got, you are as well without.

  2. Floris, to be called a liar is clearly unacceptable.

If I were in your position I would certainly raise a complaint regarding your treatment.

Azamara needs to know that their agents are still not up to the job.

Furthermore, in spite of your cruises being cancelled, you deserve an official apology at the very least and certainly a refund of your telephone costs.

In the UK calls to Guatemala are charged at a premium rate.

Maybe you should also raise this incident with the future cruise rep on your next cruise?

    Enjoy your upcoming cruise :)

Glendale ...there is a freephone number for Guatamala from UK. It is: 08000182020. Option 3 will take you to Azamara Guatamala...you will still get the same staff though!!

  3. Thanks TravelbugM.

I already had a copy of the Land Discoveries brochure downloaded(for both cruises). What I couldn't do was book Land Discoveries once I had logged in to My Azamara, my booking...it came up...for both the cruises that Land Discoveries are not available at this time for this cruise!

They were previously available to book.

I see they are available again now so glitch obviously mended!!...and it doesn't look like there are any price hikes after all!

tgg. Still nothing for that extra day in Nantes though!!!

I actually find the site easy to navigate, it is Azamara who occasionally make me scratch my head.

  4. We are on that cruise too Michael. There were landtours on the website for this cruise but have disappeared...no doubt there will be a price hike now!

Don't worry though as the land tours for our 20th August cruise has also disappeared!!

The joys of cruising with Azamara.

  5. I actually rang them about 6 weeks ago with the same Q and they said definately AM so do you think they gave Bonnie the correct info.

The original brochure which I have had since last December says PM which was why I asked!!

It can only get better, good job we all live AZ .

  6. Can I just add that 2 ladies in our company on the Mumbai to Athens trip liked Rose wine, the ship ran out of it on day 2.

They asked the captain if they were getting any more, he rang whoever to ask and they were told no, sorry we are not taking anymore on until Athens!!!

Funny how they always had some for the Captains cocktail parties though.

So all you folks who have had good experiences of local sourcing have been lucky because it doesn't always happen!

Lastly, we have done 3 Azamara cruises since the "semi AI" came into being and we have never heard anyone complain about being confused about it all.

In fact everyone has been amazed how liberal the serving of the alcoholic beverages have been!

We look forward to our next trip.

  7. Deirdre ,,thanks for that, I have had a read.

We are more concerned that there may not be anywhere to sit other than the bed!!!

I have asked Karen to let me know.

    Joyce

  8. Karen, we have just been allocated 4047 after booking a guarantee inside too!!

I would be very grateful f you would let me know what it is like when you get back.

I would like to know if there is anywhere to sit other than the bed and just general info.

We have been in balcony cabins 3 time so would like to know before I get in touch with anyone as our cruise isn't until August. Thanks,

    Joyce

  9. We have just been allocated this cabin after booking a guarantee inside. I see this cabin is very much smaller so would anyone advise trying to change..maybe back to an inside? Would appreciate input.

    Thank you.

  10. Just got off Journey 2 weeks ago.

    A. No DVD players in cabins...we usually do Balcony and definitely none there...

    B. We never have time to watch TV except maybe occasionally BBC or USA news channel.

    3. I would imagine the movies to be old!!!!

    4. Toiletries in cabin are About Rose and they provide and replenish as necessary shampoo, hair conditioner, Shower Gel, 2 blocks of soap. Makeup remover pads, Qtips, paper handkies and best of all an atomiser of room freshner..very useful!

    5. Soft drinks in the fridge are free and replenished daily, beers and spirits are to pay for. Ice buckets available.

    6.Umbrella and binoculars provided.

7.Bottled water provided in cabin and at security when you leave the ship to go on excursions..all free.

    8. If you go ashore to a beach, they have towels to take off with you too.

    9. Bathrobes and slippers are provided.

    10. Alarm clock on bedside table.

11.Hairdryer available but I admit I do take my own.

Sorry, can't think of anything else but hope this helps.

I don't take my own toiletries as I find the provided ones good and anyway, if you don't like them you can always buy some ashore and save on case space!

    Enjoy.

  11. Hi again,

As of today our edocs in My Azamara are still showing the old itinery.

    A. Do you think these will be updated before we leave home on Wednesday?....

    B. Or will they even be updated at all?

The only updated informed have received is an email from AZ last week.

I realise that these changes were made late in the day but to be honest....and I know this might upset some folks on this site!!..... We have been on 2 Azamara cruises already...and love them...so we have expectations....if this had been our 1st experience of Azamara it would be our last.

We have another booked for December so here's hoping and fingers crossed.

    Joyce

  12. Bonnie,

I think what Glendale was trying to say was....why are you giving us poor lesser mortals in the UK telephone numbers for USA Azamara so that we can sort out on an individual basis tours we prebooked?????

Surely Azamara know who booked what and when ....we booked our tours back in 2013..and paid for them so why would we even consider a call to USA?? Are you and Azmara really happy that we might all now go and book private tours?

Also your link to the new itinery is NOT active.

This might seem harsh but your replies are not conducive to happy pax.

    Joyce

  13. Well, that was the cheapest nights entertainment we have had for ages ....reading your posts. ....LOL.

Thank goodness the onboard experience is better than Miami!!!

We feel a bit left out that we had emails addressed correctly....and boringly filled them in!!

Can't wait to meet you folks with strange names.....you will have to remember who you are.

We envy you OZ folks with unsolicited emails from C..1st OZ wanting details of passports and visas...we in the UK have had NOTHING at all...here's hoping...another day, another tale.

    Joyce

  14. I must have been fortunate as I managed to get from the beginning to the end of the survey.

It did stall at some points but I just tapped the screen(iPad) and it came back!!

Nice to have the chance to fill it out.

    Good luck to you all.

I do not have any hopes that anything will result from it but as I was given the chance.......
