  1. This is known as a ‘move over’ offer when Princess has ‘oversold’ the cruise and needs people to move over, like getting bumped on airline flights. Princess will sweeten the deal, if necessary, till they get enough passengers to move.
  2. Friend should still take passport, in addition to birth Cert, in case of needing to fly home from Mexico, Belize or Roatan. Travel summary would state boarding/ entry requirements .
  3. Yes, Princess offers a single day option. I believe it was $20/day, but rates might have increased. So do the math if saving per day rate doing the the whole cruise or if you know you only want a couple of days at most. Ask on any of the current live from threads for passenger to report what is current single day internet rate.
  4. Not sure if it was a special circumstance because of Covid, but last year a gentleman got off a different Princess ship in Cabo and then boarded the Majestic in Cabo. Usually tender is not the issue, it is correct authorities for boarding available?

  6. You are in the Cruise personalizer if you are in your booking and see the tabs like payments/credits. Look above this line of ‘tabs’, and you should see ‘luggage tag and travel summary’. Click on this, scroll down to ‘print travel summary’ click on this and scroll down.

  8. Hi @LACruiser88, WallyJ here, so this is why you could not switch back to the 4/4/2023 Syd to LA sailing. I think you mentioned you were already booked on another sailing when we had our quick chat at Vines. What I heard regarding the milestones, Princess is honoring based on some book by date. If you had booked your sailing by a certain date and the ‘system’ saw you would be celebrating a ‘milestone’, it should appear in your ‘travel summary’ before the sailing. Since you booked 2 separate sailings, I would assume if it is going to be honored, they might only do for the first 14 days? The Loyalty Manager should be able to clarify. Sapphire is one of my favorite ships. I was last on her Feb 2020 for a 21 day roundtrip Singapore sailing, but on Day 11, the Captain announced the cruise has ended and we were sent home. I am glad I used EZAir and Princess took care of securing my flight back home. Looking forward to following your adventures on the Sapphire.
  9. Hi @Ken the cruiser, when I have been able to re-fare in the past, shareholders ALWAYS dropped off the booking, but in the past it was a simple call without resubmitting docs to get it re added. Now I am told, that department does not exist anymore. I was hoping a call or live chat would be a simple request to get shareholders added to a new cruise I booked a month after a current cruise which has it added already. Was told have to submit docs as that department that would do this in the past is no longer. No problem as request was done within 2 days of emailing docs. I did have an issue a couple months for my August 2023 Emerald Hawaii sailing. I saw the fare on Princess and in my TA booking engine drop. When I called my TA, they said they could not see the lower fare. Turns out, it was new bookings only for the lower fare, so I did have to cancel original booking.
  10. @Sea Hag, see post #111. It appears the old New Grounds Coffee Pkg is discontinued? The wording you highlighted was always there, I believe it was referencing you could not call room service to get a specialty coffee using the old coffee ‘cards’, as now with medallion, you could order to your room and if you had the coffee pkg, there would be no charge, before 2/19/2023. I think the highlighted part regarding swapping for mini bar items was in case there were ‘canned’ or bottled coffee items in your mini bar. But according to post #111, the coffee pkg with 15 speciality coffees is discontinued, so I would assume swapping out your mini bar for the coffee pkg is gone too, since the package does not exist anymore.
  11. Call room service and inform them of your desire to swap your minibar for the coffee package. You then tell them which medallions you would like the packages loaded onto. My experience has been, they will tell you they will charge your account for the coffee package, so that it can be ‘loaded’, but you will see that evening or by the next day, a credit back to your account. They will send someone to pick up your minibar.
  12. Hi @Ken the cruiser, my understanding is you think your S6 is probably cheaper because the higher category S5 is currently pricing at $500 less than you booked your S6. Since you are not interested in ‘upgrading’ to S5, there is no pricing available to refare your current S6, so no, princess can not refare as there is no price.
  13. As far I know, it still has the complimentary saunas and steam in the respective changing rooms at the fitness center. Its sister ship the Emerald Princess was just remodeled and the complimentary steam and saunas were removed. I have read accessible spa treatment rooms were installed from this space. The Medallion APP still shows the Caribbean Princess has the steam and saunas in the changing rooms, but it also still shows for the Emerald, and they were removed, so obviously the decks plans are not 100% accurate. Friends recently on sister ship Ruby have reported, steam and saunas still there. FYI, the other ‘Grand’ class ships that have complimentary steam and saunas are Crown, and Sapphire. Grand Princess has complimentary steam and sauna located outside by the Lotus Pool, not in the changing rooms. Diamond Princess has a ‘paid’ Izumi but not sure if the changing rooms have the steam and saunas, a quick check of deck plan on Medallion APP still shows these in the changing rooms. Is the writing on the wall, Princess has plans to remove these non revenue spaces?
  14. It appears the ‘new’ policy is you should receive a letter from the Loyalty Manager which list benefits and the ‘dates’ of events such as the wine tasting. You will not receive a separate invitation to the complimentary wine tasting, as done before. They no longer print ‘menu’ of P/E/S offerings provided to your cabin, some ships may post a list in the lounge so you can plan and see upcoming offerings.
  15. Some Princess promos are ‘new’ bookings only, so yes, you would normally not be able to just refare. Since I assume you are before final payment and if you booked a refundable deposit, then just cancel your existing booking and rebook the new lower fare. I booked an August 2023 , Hawaii cruise. The Princess website would show a lower fare than what I booked. When I called my TA to refare, they kept saying the fare was higher. Finally, agent did more research and found the ‘new’ fare was for new bookings only, so I just canceled existing booking and rebooked at the lower fare. Be careful as Princess has started non refundable deposits in some cases. Some agents are savvy enough and know how to work around, but I would guess big box are just mainly order takers, but if hold times are short, call first if they can refare, else cancel rebook.
  16. I am not aware any other Cruiseline that will ‘Status’ match with your level on MSC, although I just heard the Virgin cruise lines program is introducing some sort of ‘matching’. Celebrity and Royal Caribbean are under the same RCG company and do reciprocal matching with each other, except for Royals highest tier which you have to earn. You can usually get a quick overview of each cruise lines loyalty program at their respective websites.

  18. Yes, Princess and Royal Caribbean offer 5 night cruises out of LA that do overnight in Cabo. Suggest you B2B so you have a longer sailing.
  19. I believe the brand of ‘products’ in the salon is ‘Kerastase’ which is a division of L’Oreal. They have a website kerastase-usa.com where you should be able to find the product that was used and more.

Hi @john watson, in the past before ‘medallion’, you could get a ‘pass key’ cruise card from guest services, now you just ask them to allow your medallion to ‘access’ another cabin, it will not have charging privileges. Of course you need the occupants of the cabin to be there to confirm permission or parents, etc. This would have saved having to always stick together.

    Price jump

    The taxes have gone up as I see for my January 2023 Meraviglia sailing I booked 2 months ago, the taxes were only $200, now doing a mock booking for the same sailing, the taxes are almost $300! Could also be there is a difference in cabin type as I booked interior studio and that category is sold out, but normally the taxes are the same for the lower categories?
  23. Hi @Tom-n-Cheryl, MSC specialty restaurants have a ‘dining experience’ menu, I believe on the Meraviglia for Butchers Cut it is $47? So when you buy a multi day dining package the per restaurant price works out less. All of the restaurants have an ala carte menu where you pay per item or you decide you will do the experience set price menu. My Meraviglia sailing is offering the 3 night for $71, which includes service charges/tips as an example. If you wait to book dining package on board, price is higher and you add gratuity on top of the on board price. Are you looking at multi restaurant or just one?
  24. Hi @Tom-n-Cheryl, I believe MSC like Royal Caribbean does NOT allow you to make specific specialty dining reservation if you have a multi day ‘package’. You have to wait till you board. Are you familiar with MSC dining package? For each restaurant , You are offered a ‘dining experience’ menu which is limited. If you want an item from the regular menu you will receive 50% off the listed price of that menu item, this is obviously in addition to the cost of the package you have purchased. There are also usually restrictions on how many times you can use at the steakhouse ‘Butcher’s Cut’, and I believe you need to use at least one meal on Day1 or 2 or your cruise. Check out YouTube as there are a few videos that address the topic of Specialty Dining on MSC and you should be able to find the ‘ dining experience’ menus so you can see if what is offered would be satisfactory for you. For my upcoming 11 day on Meraviglia this month, the 3 night package states only one time for Butcher’s cut.
  25. I believe the OP is saying, specialty dining packages are not displaying when they go into their booking and option to upgrade ‘easy plus’ to premium would usually show under beverage packages but they are saying, no results/ options are displayed, when they click on the link.
