  1. I sent an email to Andy Stuart last week and one of his representative's called me at home to reply to my email. In my opinion the phone call was a waste of time. In regards to the room service fee her response was "changes were made and there is no fee from 6am to 10am. I told her that we don't use room service until late at night and now it would cost double. She said we were more than welcome to go to O'Sheehan's to eat. Her response to not being able to take food from O'Sheehan's or the buffet was pretty much the same; changes are being made and we are more than welcome to eat at O'Sheehan's. I knew I was not getting anywhere and I realized that she is just doing her job so I wasn't going to get nasty. She did admit that as a consumer she would not be happy with the changes but I need to look at it from NCL's point of view. (I don't). I mentioned that these changes were made after my final payment and I only found out about them through cruise critic and she really didn't have a reply except repeating about free morning room service and eating in O'Sheehan's.

  2. I had the same problem. I waited till the day before final payment and paid directly through NCL. I wanted to make sure my payment went through because you hear these stories about the charge being denied. When I called my credit card bank number it wasn't telling me about the cruise charge but when I heard what my credit limit balance was it was less my final payment. The next day it was the same thing so I spoke with a live representative and she was able to see that a charge was pending and verified the amount. She said sometimes it takes longer to post a large amount because it needs to be verified with the vendor(NCL). It took probably three business days to post. My PCC sent me a confirmation of payment so I had that. Once your final payment is posted to your NCL account you should be able to print your edocs if you want to print them early. Hope this helps.

  3. For our guests’ well-being and to maintain a beautiful clean environment for all of our guests to enjoy, we ask that they enjoy their meals while dining at one of our many restaurants. Every ship in the Norwegian fleet offers dining at any time day or night for guests to enjoy, with a wide variety of options and cuisines available complimentary.

So NCL, I guess you didn't care about your guests' well being and you didn't try to maintain a beautiful clean environment until you implemented the $7.95 room service charge.

  4. Limiting to two items per person would not surprise me. When people didn't want to pay for rs they went to O'Sheehans for take out and NCL stopped that. People figure if they are paying for rs they are going to combine orders. We use rs a lot and I was planning on placing one order, if any, since my sons are in another room. Coming out of my pocket so why should I have to pay for $15.90 when they are right next door. Now NCL will make sure this does not happen. They want the $$ and they are forcing people to pay. NCL seems to forget that almost all these passengers booked and paid when room service was free.

  5. That statement in fine print at the bottom of the new room service menu is one of the most clearly worded set of rules and conditions anywhere in the NCL universe. And it ties back explicitly to the "Beverages" section up top by the asterisk preceeding the statement. If an order for anything on the menu also includes a soda or a beer it cannot "attract" a $7.95 convenience charge by their own policy.

I don't put too much into what NCL prints because every brochure I have states free room service and see how far that got us.

  6. It's a shame that NCL didn't listen to people complain on cc, social media and aboard the Breakaway and Getaway, about not liking the service charge for room service. It's like they put it in our faces and made the charge $7.95 instead of $4.95. I am pissed that we are not getting what we booked for which was free room service.

I am sure it was answered somewhere but does anyone know about the pizza? Is it $5.00 PLUS $7.95 PLUS gratuity? Thanks!!

  7. Room service fee implemented so people go to O'Sheehans for take out. NCL doesn't like that because they want you to pay for room service. People can't take out from O'Sheehans so now we ALL go to buffet to bring back food to room. What do you think NCL will do next to get you to pay those room service fees? Answer: IMO, have crew at doorways telling you that you can't bring food out of buffet into elevators or stairways.

  8. I have a friend on the Breakaway. She was told by one of the crew that since the room service fee was implemented, take out at O'Sheehans has really increased so now they are stopping take out. She said it's to force people to pay the room service fee. During my last cruise I enjoyed getting food from O'Sheehans to eat on my balcony. My son's enjoy room service but I refuse to pay for it. I will bring them food back to eat from the buffet and I hope no one tries to stop me.
