  1. There is no DSC bill to be paid to individuals.
  2. Have a look at Cathay Pacific and Korean Air out of YYZ.
  3. I think you're likely to have plenty of kids onboard.
  4. I don't know about Oceania and Seaborne but I have never seen Princess or Celebrity advertise fares with gratuities included. Packages don't count.
  5. Funny. Then the discussion will move on to lack of transparency on how cruise lines allocate overall fare payments, how do you know whether the stewards are being fairly paid, etc.... Exactly the same stuff as this and countless other threads go on about.
  6. You haven't answered the bigger question about how these lines (in certain countries) compare to the overall industry practices.
  7. Yeah, I'm fully capable of adding up the numbers too.
  8. Which cruise lines advertise their pricing this way? What percentage of the CLIA member cruise industry do these lines represent?
  9. You'll be in Canada. The local currency is Canadian dollars. If you want to hand the operator USD, go ahead, but don't expect to get any change back.
  10. I've never used Uber so cannot comment on that. I've taken dozens of taxis from the cruise port to the airport and local hotels and have never had a problem. Just ask the driver to take you to the car rental centre at the airport; he'll start the meter and away you go. Should take less than 15 minutes.
  11. This is a Princess site; you're not allowed to fabricate Cunard stories here.
  12. See post #218. Typically, this is the point at which you'd be admonished to 'read the whole thread'. In this case, I think you can be forgiven since there isn't much of consequence to learn by doing that.
  13. They're most likely going to show you to a table.
  14. You don't 'need' to bring anything extra (cash) if you'd prefer not to.
  15. Yes, that's what I think too. 200 minutes is plenty; the convenience of being able to make a few calls over the course of a year is something I'm willing to invest a few $$ in.
  16. You may want to consider going directly from the ship (by taxi) to the airport to pick up and drop off there. Otherwise, shuttling (if available) could be time-consuming and not on any schedule you'll have control over.
  17. Agreed (we especially liked TIM Tourist but had to actually be in Italy to get that). I think the trade here is, not so much a heavy data user but the extended period of time to be connected pretty much anywhere.
  18. We are on a cruise/land tour to Europe in April and are planning six weeks in NZ and Australia next Jan to March. So, the 365 day option is definitely attractive. I couldn't figure out the phone call business; are the calls just local numbers (within the country you're traveling in) or is 'long distance' allowed? In any event USD 89 (the extra USD 20 for voice may be worthwhile, especially down-under) would be a good bargain for the service and flexibility that appears to be on offer.
  19. And before you know it, people are just making things up.
  20. A couple of 12 year old boys would have found this hilarious in 1967. If you don't, not to worry.
  21. The Captain's Log. A real kneeslapper and much better than asking about most anything else.
