  1. @aussielozzie18

Right now our world is a very sad place.
I read what happened in Sydney.
There is a tremendous amount of anger everywhere, but you just don’t expect the fear for your life in a mall or grocery store.
I was a child during WWII.
We actually thought peace would be permanent after that.
now it’s not only war, but people so filled with anger they feel compelled to strike out.
I give thanks for the brave police officer who stopped the murderer.
I pray the injured recover, especially the baby whose mother died.
I pray for the souls of the victims, and for the people of Sydney and of the whole country that this doesn’t happen to you again.
Somehow, good has to prevail over evil.

I was worried before I went to Japan that I wouldn’t find enough to eat (!!!), mainly because I don’t eat fish much. Don’t know what I was thinking!

The food was great, the people so polite, and the bullet train was so smooth we couldn’t tell how fast we were going.
We passed Mt Fuji between Kyoto and Tokyo, but clouds obscured it.
I wish I could go again; Japan was beautiful.

  3. I’ve not had time to play on my iPhone for a while   My 35 person group cruise took up more time than they did back when I worked.
maybe it’s because of the demographics?

I don’t want to betray my favorite gender, but herding cats is what it has been like.
The result  was a really great cruise; dinners in the MDR were actually excellent, and the dining department on Allure did exactly what asked for. We were in the side room with an entrance directly from the elevator lobby.
No winding through the tables to get to ours, and quiet enough we could all talk.
I can attend my women’s club luncheons without fear that someone is going to come after me with a pitchfork!

I’ve been keeping up with our friend who is on the World Cruise, and y’all may have already posted this.  I hate to think of all I have missed.
Anyway, he is now a certified Sydney Harbor Bridge climber!

  4. Ok@Ocean Boy Great Coco Cay and sunrise photos. I haven’t seen the balloon in the air in a long time!

@dani negreanu My heart goes out to you. I wish we could make it better.
Please talk to us whenever it gets to be too much.

Know that you have friends here who really care; even though we are able to live our lives, you are here inside of us and always in our prayers and our thoughts.

    Thanks, Deb.

    Physically we're OK.

Our souls -- not so much.

Dire situation..... no end in the foreseeable future to this futile war 😢.

Dani, I’m so very sorry you’re living with this every day. It has to color everything you do.
I’m just glad you’re not physically impacted, but mental and emotional exhaustion has to be hard to live with.
You have friends here who are praying for this and the other hot spots to come to a peaceful conclusion.

if menus  not loaded yet for your sailing,

    in app click on head

    Select a different cruise

    scroll down

Don’t see your cruise; add it now

    Browse our ships

select the same ship and this/next weeks sailing date

    Click dining

In the past, that has worked. Now when I click on “select a different cruise” it takes me to book a cruise.
I can’t see any way in the app to look at another sailing, as I have done many times before.

I love bread (amateur baker myself) and I haven’t tried these yet. I do love the dinner rolls with the cheese and herbs on top. Super yummy!! Sailing on Allure in October. Will have to ask for these.

Mostly they serve soft rolls, including on Allure last summer.
I ask for the hard rolls, and can usually get one or two. For a table if 6 or 8, that can be a problem.
I have gotten Savoury Bites since COVID, so always ask.

I'm not sure they can be easily found on line, but they will be in the app. Look at the current cruise and you will be able to see every menu.

I’ve checked the app every day. I used to click n Main Dining, Deck 3,4 or 5, and the word menu was right there. It no longer is, at least on Feb 26 Allure.

Yes I did try Restful Legs and it did not work. Also tried a cream that you rub on your legs and it did not work. I did have a little relief from taking magnesium pills.

I’m so sorry you’re having a hard time  I wish I knew a magic elixirs that would take the misery away.
Hopefully shots will make a difference.

Thanks Graham. I’m hanging in there.

Greg, have you tried an OTC called Hyland’s Restful Legs?

I found out about Hyland’s after I fell twice on vacation because of leg cramps.
A pharmacist recommended Hyland’s Leg Cramps and I used them ever since.
Then I found their Restful Legs. If I ride in a car for more than a couple of hours my legs start driving me crazy.
    Hyland’s to the rescue.
Their stuff may not work for everyone, but they do for me.
I’ve bought them at Walgreens and CVS.

I have had a hard time keeping up here the last couple days.  I have been taking care of patient 3225, otherwise known as my wife.

Everything turned out well, and we are back to normal.

Lunch today was at a new Thai restaurant.  We have been there a couple of times, and haven’t found anything bad.

You get a couple spring rolls with your meal, but we ordered some extras.

    I had Pad Thai

    IMG_0610.thumb.jpeg.9ccdd3c37f92fe0706068588f0d2ccbc.jpeg

I was hesitant to order it, because I got violently ill on some I had at Universal Studios last year.

    Much better outcome today.

Off to work a funeral dinner at our church tonight.

Did your Pad Thai shrimp have the tails left on? I love Shrimp Pad Thai but hate when the tails are left on the shrimp.

  12. I haven’t gone to a Welcome Party in years. Not on a 4 day.
I am cruising with friends and some want  to know about the Welcome Party.
I no longer know if you join a line and shake hands with the captain or if waiters come around with canapés, whiskey sours etc.

I do remember taking packets of sugar because the whiskey sours were really sour.
So my question: is there one on a four day, and what does it consist of?

  13. @aussielozzie18 Last night was the season finale of NCIS Sydney.
We only got it over here because of the writers/actors strikes stopping production of movies and tv shows.
We haven’t heard yet if CBS will buy more episodes, but I’m hoping.
I have really enjoyed it, although I need closed captions to follow the dialogue sometimes!

Our NCIS doesn’t come on early enough for me, so this was like a gift!

I hope it’s a big hit over there, and enough viewers liked it here to give us more seasons.

We took a "break" from our grim reality and flew to see the grands in Amsterdam for a week.

Our eldest decided at the last moment to join us for the week-end (working anyhow from home Thursdays and Sundays). So he worked from his brother home instead....

We took a late night flight together on Wednesday and DS1 flew back alone Sunday night, just in time to sleep 3 hours and be at the office at 9am on Monday.

We "brought" with us a very cold spell of weather, instead of warm... And, of course, a rare event of snow in Amsterdam, where the grands got to "experiment" ice for the first time.

    Bundled up.

    Look!! Snow AND ice...

I’m glad you were able to have a change with the bonus of seeing your kids.
I think of you all every day and hope you and your loved ones are safe and as little worried as possible.
