  1. Am I right I can't book anything musical until I'm on the app onboard? My signature events in the theatre have opened up - 8 nights - so I've reserved the 8.30pm performances. Everything else has no booking app just information so do I book onboard, queue, do a dance myself or what? Dining opens tomorrow apparently, judging by how slow the website was just now I reckon I'll be on fish and chips in the Quays every night.
  2. No, just the one formal from my itinerary. We get the street party on Coronation Day, that will be interesting. I assume the events will take place in the Queens Room. It's supposed to be a Black & White Ball for the formal night. Someone said the Roaring Twenties is left over from the cancelled T/A which makes sense as its normally very popular on those. My booking confirmation says subject to change on a couple of days.
  3. It is overnight but she arrives at 11.30pm.
  4. Thank you, not sure what they'll make of my paragraph about reserving my Arvia dining though.
  5. Great, that's one less thing to worry about, now just the Roaring Twenties v the Black & White night. I was all excited about my favourite dress and gloves, now I might be taking my flapper gear as well just in case. Next stop back to P&O to sort out my entertainment and dining for Arvia which open tomorrow. I'm trying to guess at what time. It's all getting very muddled, thank goodness Cunard don't have all this booking rigmarole onboard, getting a ticket for the planetarium will be a breeze compared with Arvia and Iona!
  6. I was assuming it was a seaday as we don't get there until 11.30pm. As to when we can get off I'm not sure but if we aren't leaving until 11.00pm on 4th assumedly we can enjoy the light display etc. before sailing. I've had late night arrivals with Cunard before and you can generally go ashore in a short while once secured. All onboard on 4th will assumedly be 10.30 or thereabouts - I'm notorious for being last back on!
  7. The letter delivered to guests on QV/QM2 refers to an 11.30pm arrival on 3rd with an 11.00pm departure on 4th. Is that incorrect now?
  8. No, he lives in Dubai. Next time I visit I'll ask him to take me to dinner on the QE2 and he can wear it there instead.
  9. We shall see ... my bookings for Arvia open tomorrow so watch this space. As it was, earlier I couldn't see anything in My Booking and even my itinerary was just whirring round. They seem to have fixed it since I called, if not you'll be hearing lots of screams and tantrums as I need to fix Arvia before QM2 and Iona while I'm on Arvia! I've just paid for my Arvia wifi because if I'd done it on board they wanted to charge me £24 a day, is that really the price now? With my discount its cost me just over £153 for the two weeks bought in advance.
  10. Thank you. That sounds great. I've only been to Liverpool twice, once in the 80's to deliver some court documents and once to visit Anfield with a friend who wanted to buy a shirt there. I'm hoping to see as much as possible, I'd forgotten about Eurovision, how exciting.
  11. P&O do the same, however the big ships at full capacity are almost 3 times as many people I suppose. I'd suggest P&O need to start earlier boarding if they want to control things more. I've been speaking to them again this afternoon about technical problems with My Cruise and they mentioned yet again do not turn up early, you will be made to wait, a bit different to the lady who said after 3.00pm would be okay. I've registered for my assistance so hopefully I'll get my seat at 3.00pm as that's when I've booked my transport to arrive based on my previous conversations.
  12. Then I shall be in the minority as I've always worn ballgowns on formal nights on Cunard. It's part of the fun and I've no intention of stopping now. I haven't sailed on QM2 since my 2019 world cruise so if I'm out of place so be it. I love my fishtail trains along with my long evening gloves and they will be as ever having an airing in the Queens Room! Elegant formal evening dresses and I don't mix very well as they're extremely hard to buy in both my size and I tend to look like a sack of potatoes. Now that I can't even dress formally for Royal Ascot I've every intention of carrying on regardless. It's all part of the fun, each to their own.
  13. They do indeed, particularly on the transatlantic crossings. I note there is to be a grand Celebration black and white ball, so all the Cunarders will be breaking out their finest. Thankfully having just tried a whole load from my 2019 world cruise on, mine still fit. I was panicking as I've built my supply over 15 years on shopping in NY before boarding to come home.
  14. I can get into my bookings but no luggage tags, can book excursions, can't see restaurants as just spinning round and round and if I try to book a June 2025 cruise it tells me I can book from 8.30am on 27 April - that's been for 24 hours now! I'm also unable to get into my August Britannia booking at all and for good measure have the same issue with Cunard! Happy days.
  15. I know someone who's onboard as they were on the WC and meant to go home to NY last Sunday. They seem to be getting well looked after. I do feel a bit sorry for those who flew in to join what was effectively a separate sailing but unfortunately we've most of us had something similar at some time. The problem with QM2 is the number of people like myself who use her as a "bus", she is after all doing point to point work and not really cruising. I must confess to being a little bit in trepidation as I know from my visits to see her that she's looking a little tired around the edges outside (as does Arcadia) but it's what's on the inside that counts. Not only did four t/as contact me before Cunard put it on the website but the news was all over the local paper and radio. QM2 is very big news locally and a large number who say they are on as first timers are reporting it here.
  16. Very popular on Regal Princess last year, I was surprised how popular all the quiz shows were on Princess with the dedicated stage room full to overflowing every evening and Deal or No Deal in the theatre.
  17. It was never in danger of going up as it was clear it would sell out. All those currently on board are getting the sailing for free before they get flown home as well. The website crashed within 2 minutes of it opening and a lot of those who are saying they've booked have never been on a Cunard ship before. 17 minutes in people were getting sold out messages apparently and faceache Cunard site removed all mention of the sailing as people bombarded them for the way it was sold. Not seen such excitement in a very long time. I'm now busy dragging ballgowns out of storage at the back of the wardrobe and hoping the waistline hasn't expanded too much since 2019! Will be interesting to see how many of these new passengers turn up in full regalia, I'm assuming that Black and White won't include Newcastle United striped shirts
  18. Congratulations! Hopefully it will be a really memorable event. I actually like the Princess Grills restaurant more than the Queens Grills on QM2 and the rooms are lovely. If I recall you've visited QM2 in port so have a good idea of what to expect with all the nooks and crannies. Hopefully you'll be one of the ones who love her warts and all. I thought as a single I'd pass on the offer of a suite when it was offered as dining alone in the Grills didn't appeal to me. Mind you I've no idea what number are going to be on my table, I just said yes to deck 11 balcony immediately!
  19. I'm on, deck 11 balcony for me. I'm going home, first time since 2019.
  20. Hoorah - I'm going home!!!!! I have a balcony on the QM2 Coronation cruise for £449. I'm so excited. Thanks to everyone who crossed everything for me, clearly the power of the P&O CC forum worked its magic!
  21. People also select a time in advance so there's no people queuing who should not be there.
  22. Who did you enquire from? It's not listed as available on the website yet and the four t/as who called me quoted that sum of £349 for a single. Its QM2 so balconies with glass or unobstructed are not that many. I've told my t/a I'll take anything at all up to a budget twice what I've been quoted for single occupancy. The Grills will, I'm sure go in minutes. It's time for me to go home - I've got everything crossed here!!
  23. I agree, I did pay a very low price though at the time I booked £749 single occupancy select inside with a tiny solo supplement. I'd have been happy with that but they kindly pushed me up. I'm interested to see what my saver inside on Iona on 3 June gets offered at, if at all.
  24. Surely a man of your standing only wears a Panama.
  25. Long story, I'm afraid. Let's just say I have a "special relationship" with Carnival cruises lines in the UK!!!
