  1. Italian rules state 10 days quarantine. Hypothetically yoin are Covid positive 2 days before getting off. Thats 8 days into the sequence. Celebrity inform Italy they adjust accordingly, 8ndays in Italy before the next test you are in quarantine hotel. If no clear test you stayin 2quarantine for another 8 days. Sorry that's just life with Italian rules.
  2. I cannot swear to it but recall some time ago a post over on the P&O or Princess boards (sorry cannot remember which) that masks in the theatre and at concerts are for the protection of the performers not the passengers. Certainly there is live current discussion on the P&O board about front row seats in the theatre not being used for exactly that reason. As a guess perhaps Cunard etc have restrictions placed on these areas/events by unions such as Equity if it is indeed to protect performers?
  3. If you are positive on the ship Celebrity have to follow the Italian protocols. Therefore they tell the Italian authorities you have covid and you are placed in an approved Italian hotel for I believe 10 days. You would not get a choice, it is Italian law. If however you tested positive after your disembarkation it would be on your conscience as to if you were prepared to board your Easyjet flight knowing you are positive. I assume being British you wouldn't actually need to test once you've left the ship so could happily fly with no worries. Basically everyone travelling at present needs to make themselves aware of the country requirements where they are disembarking. Rule of thumb: if you are positive tested onboard and quarantined once your cruise ends you are following the rules and laws of that country for if you need quarantine ashore.
  4. If I recall correctly Mollag was actually one of the passengers who was quarantined and isolated on this cruise which turned into a personal disaster for her and her husband. If I understand it correctly the FCC credit she refers to and has been chasing is her "compensation" for being confined and is covered under the Cruise with confidence clause and is therefore on top of the 25% refund referred to in P&O's letter. If this is correct my view would be that this should have been dealt with and she surely shouldn't still be waiting for P&O to sort it. It is quite understandable that there are pressures on the administration staff, what is not acceptable is passengers being confronted by a brick wall when attempting to make contact and get what they are owed. Incidentally on a general note on communication back at the end of March I received an email from Paul Ludlow's office in response to questions asked in January regarding the insurance position. It stated they were sorry for the delay and P&O's lawyers would be in touch to discuss the issue with me and clarify the situation. Here we are in May not one more word from any source! Ironically the cruises I wanted the information for were both cancelled one by me because I caught covid and the other by P&O for operational reasons. That aside I do feel like a lot of passengers that there is a lot of fobbing off going on here and staff shortages aside the company are using them as an excuse rather than them being the reason. P&O are not alone in this but they are on occasion being difficult and obstructive at a higher level than the administration staff and it is those poor individuals who have to face the wrath and ire of the frustrated passengers. On my own FCC situation I would add that P&Os refusal to allow my t/a to allocate the funds that they admitted were due led to me having to pay a new deposit of £372 on top when booking my Christmas Caribbean cruise. Whilst I was put back into funds by my agent I am aware that she still cannot get the physical funds transferred from P&O to her administration office despite it showing on the computer and repeat requests for someone in P&O to push the relevant button. Follow the recent price drops I also spoke to P&O (this is a direct booking for my aunt) about cancelling a booking and rebooking on the substantially better terms, loss of deposit etc being accepted. Not only did the telephone agent want my aunt and I to forfeit my separate £173 deposit but he also wanted to use the entire £999 of FCC from a cancellation my aunt has used as her deposit. I've no idea if that was correct but after nearly one and a half hours to get through I couldn’t be bothered to argue. I am therefore beginning to believe whichever route you choose to book will make little difference because the quality of the person handling the problems at P&O's end is totally luck of the draw.
  5. If anyone thinks P&O is confusing try taking a Celebrity cruise from Italy! They managed to change their testing requirements twice within 24 hours leading to pandemonium when people had changed flights, arrival days and rebooked tests (Celebrity require observed tests). P&O although not perfect are giving people the easiest and cheapest option, in fact the three Carnival companies P&O, Cunard and Princess actually do seem to have more thought for their passengers.
  6. Crikey, sounds like anyone not a Royalist had better cancel ...
  7. Virtually all UK insurance policies offer full covid cover. The policies cover all eventualities if you get covid or are unable to board as you've been in contact with someone with covid in the 14 days before travel.
  8. Have you spoken to P&O and explained the situation about your friend's position? Surely in the circumstances they should be able to assist. Which ship/date are we speaking about?
  9. Thanks for that. My agent actually did pay out the full refund amount but as I say we applied the funds immediately to two different cruises - I'm actually going on both (hoorah) but my auntie is lead booker on one and I'm lead booker on the second. I have an online "instant" account with my agent and can see that the amount received into it from P&O is £90pp less than what we were due. My new booking shows my agent has applied the full refund amount. I've never seen this before so was a little surprised but hey I've got the right amounts applied and am going on Iona in October and Britannia at Christmas and I'll let my t/a and P&O sort out their part!
  10. I don't think there are any! I've received two flyers in the afternoon post from the solo travel departments of top single specialist UK travel agents. Both state "twin for sole use" and "limited single availability". If this is correct it's very much a retrograde step by Cunard.
  11. You're going to get lots more nice weather from today. Forecast tomorrow and Friday for sun and highs of 21/22 degrees. Set to last (well in the south) for the next week at least. Clearly you were destined to get this unexpected opportunity
  12. I'm assuming this is the awaited next move for quarantine cabins you are referring to? I recall Molecrochip saying the next round was imminent.
  13. It has to be cancelled 24 or 48 hours before I believe (can't remember exactly as on my last cruise it was P&O doing all the cancelling) otherwise no refund
  14. Sorry we had crossed wires. I was referring to entry requirements which in turn led to testing requirements. I really can't understand why you are so agitated, and apologise for I've caused you stress. I thank you once more for your assistance on the date.
  15. That's quite good for a cruise line! I've an outstanding query with P&O from February about a cruise I was due to take on 1 April. Their standard re0ly is minimum 28 days.
  16. Hello. Just booked Celebrity Edge for my first Celebrity cruise. I'm travelling with my friend who is a big peloton fan. She has asked me if the bikes have shoes or cages. All sounds very foreign to me and far too strenuous but if anyone can help with that information I would be very grateful. Thank you.
