We are booked on 20 October beyond. So excited. So pleased I saw this thread as it made me realise how much I wanted to sail on the Beyond. So thank you very much for this thread. I wasn’t blown away by Apex so this will be interesting. Cruise director on Silhouette said they had fixed some of the previous issues. I’ll be on holiday so I’ll go on board knowing I won’t be cooking or cleaning!

If you don’t mind me asking for those looking at Cunard how does it compare to X please & if in Grills to the Retreat. Thank you

Our first cruise on X was in a SS 2000. We then sailed DCL (1 bedroom suite) and went back to X (in PS x 2, CS x 1 & Aqua x 1) when the dcs were older. Things were different but we enjoyed all the same. We loved Aqua as much as suites tbh. Our next 2 cruises are in a suite guarantee & a CS. We will make the most of the trips whatever changes come. I’ll not be cooking or cleaning so I’ll be happy!

We did an October Mediterranean cruise last year. First thing you needed sweatshirts/jackets as was cold. Warmed up by around 11. Olympia a fair few hadn’t expected it. And it was 🥶 I’m English Cypriot so I was well prepared!

London hotels are even worse! We live in Hertfordshire but often stayed in town after nights out when dh used to get business discounts. He’s now retired so that’s no longer an option!

I’m finding that everything has gone up. We went to book a short night break to Cornwall same hotel we’ve stayed before 2 years ago & its £250pn for the same room! We passed.

I’m interested in this also than having to scroll through all the options!

Can I ask if you took magnetic hooks? Or were there coat hooks already? Thinking of taking them for coats etc. It was great on Silhouette as they had hooks so coats etc didn’t need to take up wardrobe space. Far more useful than I ever thought necessary!

Glad your dh is doing good. We had a land holiday booked last year & my dad (already unwell) deteriorated. Cancelled our holiday & insurance refused to pay as foreseen event. Even appealed it. Nowt. But I got to be with my dad at the end. That was priceless.

My U.K. celebrity rep says I still get retreat access for the suite guarantee I have booked in October. Let’s see as they may not be privy to all the information yet. In June we are in a CS. However if there are no further changes & I like the guarantee & don’t mind the retreat team, then I may see if can move down to SS as that will be a saving of £7000. We don’t use the butler loads anyway. Can also put that saving towards another cruise - win win!

If we do our ‘on hold’ cruise in October we will be elite+ on June one - 2 nights before the end. Too late for me to get my extra 2 laundry bags done 😄

Think we shall have to see 🤷🏻‍♀️ but if they take away Luminae then they need to accommodate the extra passengers for dining and the MDRs would be far busier. Who knows though!

I agree Kotor backdrop is stunning - breakfast on our balcony was a highlight. Thank you re Raw on 5 I’ve always avoided & lots of other choices!

I checked beyond sailing & it’s says butler for SS as well & MC suite,

Does anyone know how it works on other lines? Do they keep the same butler or is it ‘a pool’

We actually preferred it to Luminae. We met a couple who were in the retreat & ate in Blu most nights. Those damn IVs 😬 I like my balcony too much.

@Scottishclover Thank you very comprehensive! Loved Eden on Apex but will have to see what we can get reservation wise this time. Can I ask if gf options in Raw on 5? I’m also gf as it affects my rheumatoid arthritis. I agree about the bread 😁 Silhouette had a dedicated gf section with delicious deserts in OV as well. We scored a good deal for a suite guarantee so will be in Luminae with a few specialities if available. But on Apex we managed to get reservations on board we just had to be a bit flexible.

I absolutely loved Silhouette. It had a homely feel though. Loved the Sky Lounge. We were in Aqua & both preferred Blu to Luminae. Dh was a bit meh - he prefers Apex. I’m not keen on Apex but sailing on her again next year. I do like the retreat though. I wouldn’t do Aqua on E class as I’m not keen on the IV. Spend so much time on my balcony. Silhouette I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Blu.

We did Norway fjords on Silhouette in May. Spectacular. Have the Best of Scandinavia booked on apex for June. Didn’t love Apex but the destinations look fab.

Ok so have spoken to my Celebrity agent Vaping - no real answer yet from HQ & still being tested. Butlers - there will be a team & some requests will go through retreat hosts. They have not been given exact details yet. I neglected to ask about butlers being let go (had a coughing fit - bronchitis) so had to end call. I have a good deal I think booked provisionally & now need to persuade dh 😄

We have it on hold for 24 hours 🤞🤞 now to persuade him!

Ok so having gone looking at other boards for now I’ll stick to the devil I know & go for more ‘bargains’ if possible so I don’t feel cheated 😁
