Consider an afternoon of great coctails, tapas, jazz and blues at The Mezzanine.
Think the happy hour was between 16.00 and 20.00, so just right for a stagger back to the ship. ;)
Now you have the right idea. Going to check out the Mezzanine.

Our ship doesn't leave San Juan until 9pm. Any suggestions for what to do in the evening that is close to the ship? Looking for some sort of entertainment.

The option I like is room service. Breakfast on the balcony is always nice.
I am not a breakfast person, but breakfast on the balcony is soooooo good. Also found that breakfast in the Windjammer is actually better than MDR.

We plan on booking the 3 dinner package when we board. Question is what nights. Is there some way to see what will be served each evening in the mdr before booking. Wasn't sure if the menus for the week are posted in the dining room.

I have never applied for TSA pre check but have received it for the last few years on all my flights. Just returned from Florida and had it going down and back. So did my husband. I have no idea why I get it but checking in is so much easier. I do know some airlines do not participate.

Orient Beach was a great beach but most of the small restaurants along the beach have been torn down and the government built new places that look alike, just different colors. Some businesses haven't come back, such as Orange Fever. I understand that the old renters are very unhappy mainly because their rent tripled and the new buildings arent up to code. Not the same place anymore.

What if we dont purchase a drink package until we are on board? How is it put on our set sail pass?

I agree with Merion Mom. Their are so many beautiful beaches all with something different to offer. I would grab a taxi to what ever beach you decide. Check out Ports of Call.

Thanks for all the info. I definitly think this is the hotel for us.

Curious to know if anyone has stayed here and if so, what is your opinion. It looks nice in the pictures and a good price. Pictures can be deceiving.

I also purchased tags from cruise critic. I have used them on the last 4 cruises and they work great.

Thank you. I just filled out the form and waiting to receive an email.

Is there a charge for distilled water if they bring it to the room. I filled out a special needs form and I want to make sure I don't get charged
My husband will also be bringing his cpap. Where did you see a special needs form?

We always go to Barrachina for lunch. The food is good and the drinks are real good. Beside the restaurant, they have a small courtyard with a bar where you can eat or just have a drink. The pina colada was invented there.

On our 2013 cruise on the Brilliance of the Seas there was a no smoking policy on formal nights. We noticed there was a lot more people in the casino when there was no smoking. It was enjoyable.

Maybe for YOU but most certainly not for my husband and me! Please don't speak for other people when you obviously have no idea what their likes and priorities are!
This is off topic, but couldn't help but notice the greyhounds. We are on our second rescued greyhound and they are the sweetest and most gentle dogs we have ever had. They are retired and so our we.

Thank you.

We are planning to take 2 bottles of wine on our next cruise. When we have polished those off, can we order a bottle for our room? If we can, would we purchase the bottle at any bar?

Try smuggling alcohol into a sports stadium and see what happens. Most won't try it because they know there are consequences there. Royal really doesn't have any stiff consequences that scares people from doing it. If they did, I'm sure there would be less people trying to do it.
All this will lead to royal increasing prices or going back to everyone in the stateroom having to get the package. My wife doesn't drink at all so that would be a waste of money.
I am sorry, but are you saying the ridiculous price for drinks of any kind on board a cruise is because of all the people who smuggle booze on board? I think its mostly because they have a captive audience. I have never smuggled booze on board but I can understand why some would.

Any kind of Mojito and a Dark and Stormy. Oh yeah and whatever the drink of the day is. Hee Hee. I think I might drink too much on cruises.

Reading these posts brought back fond memories of our 1st cruise. It was on the Nordic Prince our of New York to Bermuda. I gained 5 lbs. that cruise because we went to almost every midnight buffet. Boy did I learn quick to avoid those buffets on future cruises. I still enjoy cruising very much but there is something very special about the 1st one.

and his bunch of $$ hungry weather bug rejects. Would you take your beloved family aboard...I wouldn`t
I don't think you will be missed. I wouldnt hesitate to go.
