First B2B on Vision. How does it work?

This will be our first b2b on Vision of the Seas out of Galveston. Can someone explain how it works to get moved from one room to the new room? We are on the same floor for both. Do we have to pack up totally, disembark? If we must get off the ship to check in again (to clear their roster) can we get right back on? Or does the cruise line issue the new sea pass onboard as part of their protocol? If we do not have to get off, is there a place we can go while the flip for the new cruisers is taking place? My DH has some mobility issues so I want to be prepared for limited trauma drama and not appear a total idiot.

You would normally only need to pack items that are not hanging. The stateroom attendants will take your bags and hanging items to the new stateroom.

You do not need to check-in again. Guest Services will issue you your new SeaPass cards either the night before or on changeover morning.

You should be able to use your new stateroom as soon as you reboard. However, I would discuss this with your new stateroom attendant during the first cruise so they can get your stateroom ready first.

So nice of you to reply with useful info.

I forget to mention that it's a good idea to visit Guest Services early in the first cruise and confirm you are on their consecutive cruiser list. This will help enable you to get any letters and/or instructions on the B2B process.

We just did our first B2B on Oasis. Yes, do go to guest services to have them check and confirm our second week. Much to our surprise, they could not find us. We went on Tuesday and our names didn’t show up until Thursday afternoon. That was a bit stressful. And take something with the second confirmation for sure. Have a wonderful time

You can either get off on your own (and not be allowed back on until general embarkation starts) or you can get off with the consecutive cruisers, process through Immigration, and then right back on. If you go on your own, the main historical district in Galveston is about two blocks from the pier (LA King old time ice cream parlor!). You will get an "In Transit" card that will let you reboard using the suite line (although when we did this that was the slowest line because the metal detector wasn't manned).

Talk to both your old and new stewards early in the cruise and let them know which cabin you are moving to. Pack all your drawer and bathroom stuff in suitcases and leave by the closet. Stewards will move that and anything on hangers. Either pack your safe contents or arrange with the stewards to get into the new cabin early to move the stuff to the new safe - this obviously has to be done after the current passengers leave that cabin.

Depending on number of B2B passengers, they may or may not have a special lunch for you (but if you get off on your own you will miss it). There will be a meeting the day before return to Galveston to tell you exact procedures and maybe give you your new cruise card. Or you might have to pick cards up at Guest Services the night before. If you need a wheelchair let them know at the meeting.
