mrlevin Posted August 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2018 Nothing really new; even the Grand Voyages are repeats of past trips. Marc
Travelcat2 Posted August 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2018 Some of the new ports sound interesting. Good to hear that Regent will still be doing pre and post cruise packages as they are quite enjoyable!
Rare Caroldoll Posted August 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2018 We have been on ships that did "first time" visits to ports, and most recently last year on Regent. I must say, these ports are not so good as they don't know what to do with the passengers. For instance, Albania. Even the officers did not like it. We did, but we spoke German and we were fortunate to find a driver who spoke German. At the end of our time in port, we almost didn't make it back to the ship. If I didn't have translate in my I-Phone, we would not have found a cab! When we did find a taxi driver, we had to use Translate to get to the ship! Hambagahle Posted August 15, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2018 Sometimes the choices make me laugh a bit. Stornaway - lovely place from which to explore the Hebrides IF you have plenty of time to take the ferries (!) - has a population of only 8000. Adding about 10% to the population in one day makes me think that the place will be over-run. I am curious as to what excursions Regent will propose there (and in other similar places) and which tour operator they will use...
