joyce&bob Posted November 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2017 Looking for info. on the Culinary Arts Dinner ..... when is it available, day - time? Review of the Canaletto restaurant. Are any of the specialty dining venues open for lunch on the Koningsdam? Is it better to book these on line or to wait until onboard? What is the dress code for above mentioned & the Pinnacle grill? taxmantoo Posted November 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2017 Looking for info. on the Culinary Arts Dinner ..... when is it available, day - time? It seems the Culinary Arts Center is being phased out without any plans or announcements as to what might replace it. See this current thread https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2560898 Review of the Canaletto restaurant. Are any of the specialty dining venues open for lunch on the Koningsdam? The Pinnacle Grill is open for lunch most sea days and sometimes the odd port day. You cannot pre-book online so make sure to book as son as you get on the ship as it fills up very quickly. Is it better to book these on line or to wait until onboard? What is the dress code for above mentioned & the Pinnacle grill? The dress code for any specialty restaurant, in this case Tamarind, Sel de Mer, Canaletto and Pinnacle Grill is the same as the Main Dining Room. This applies to Gala Nights and non-Gala Nights. See above.

Yes...but you may be able to switch the time or date once you board. Not guaranteed, but a possibility.
catl331 Posted November 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 7, 2017 (edited) Review of the Canaletto restaurant. Good, but not great. The menu said “Spartire” is the Italian word for sharing. We suggest ordering two small plates, one pasta and one large plate for every two people at your table. We did that, ordering the gnocchi with short ribs as the pasta dish. It was way too much food for us. Just the small plates plus the gnocchi, or two small plates and one large, would have been about right. Since we are 4-star we got 50% off, but I don't think we would go again if we paid $15 each. We have tried a few times but always come away with the same reaction "OK, but nothing really special". The venue is not really that nice and the food is unimpressive at best. It certainly is nowhere near approaching the quality of a good land-based Italian restaurant.
