Captain formal nights

Does anyone know which nights are the captain formal nights. We would like to reserve the Italian Restaurant one night but DON'T want to do this on these nights. Am I correct that there are 2 of these nights on our 8 day cruise, thanks

Usually 2nd night and 2nd to last night, usually both sea days, or early sails.

Lately the elegant night with pictures with the Captain have been on the second night. Example, ship leaves Sunday, Monday night is the night for pictures.

I have never done a five night cruise before. Does anyone know which night is the Elegant night? I'd like to make reservations for dinner at the Italian restaurant but don't want to miss the dining room on elegant night? Can anyone help?

It will normally be the first full sea day.

I realize that, but you have a better choice of time available when you prearranged it.

we ate at the Italian restaurant twice. We always got right in, even reservations the same day. Wait until you board. We found the food very good. We ate 2 Steakhouse, 2 Italian, 1 Chef's Table and 2 MDR

We just did a five day cruise and elegant night was day 2 of the cruise, which is the first full sea day. We left on Monday and formal night was Tuesday. This was on the carnival valor cruise leaving October 2, 2017.
