Explorer Kids/Teen Club age guidelines

Recommended Posts

Just curious if there was any flexibility in the kids club groupings. Our daughter will be 11 1/2 on our sailing, and has always done better with older friends. What are the chances she'll be allowed to join the 12-14 group?

Doubtful. We have seen the 12-17 ages combined, but never combining under 9-11 with the 12-14. Our daughter was 2 months from turning 12 and was denied being in the 12+ crew with her sister on Oasis.

Depends on the sailing. Depends on the kid numbers. Depends on the manager.

Chances are she'll be asked to try her own group first and they'll make the judgment call.

If they do bump up, you'll have to go to the teen club and sign a waiver and its only ever a trial, they can send her back down if they feel she'll do better there...
