Zuiderdam is starting to move per AIS.

Doesn't look like we'll see her until she approaches the bridge.

Hope springs eternal on a view. Those bright lights under the bridge are strange.

As she sails out of sight, she's pretty all lit up - but if you didn't know it was Zuidy, there is no way to tell.

Be back in 40 minutes for Westy and Juneau. It will be a lot lighter there.

15-20 minutes on Westie.

With no other ship in the way, we can actually see when Westie drops her lines.

The words were barely out of my mouth - dropping lines!!

Moving already.

Moving mostly sideways so far.

Did you hear anything on the VHF about her leaving?

Just the Securite call.

The day looks a lot nicer as Westerdam leaves than it did when she arrived.

I didn't even hear the Securite call but I sure could hear the planes (I had both on).

Have you ever seen anybody but the HAL 14-day ships there? I never had the feeling there was much competition for the area, and I suspect several ships could anchor there if needed.

Since all ships have S/E Alaska pilots onboard on this run (pretty much while first arriving in Alaskan waters every new run until leaving in Ketchikan) "reserving" is not necessary but it was all submitted as part of "planning & itinerary" the year before
