K9pal Posted August 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2018 For our upcoming river cruise, we are scheduled to fly Budapest to Munich, then depart Munich for our flight back to the US. Flights show a 60 minute layover (scheduled by our TA through the cruise line). Both arrival and departure will be on Lufthansa. I see that we can most likely use the electronic passport scanners there, but still a bit concerned about the short length of layover. Anyone been through MUC lately who can ease my mind? CruiserBruce Posted August 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Munich is a very easy airport, was just there in May and June. You will have a more detailed passport and security check before your flight to the US. But 60 minutes is pretty safe.

To be fair, "more detailed passport...check" means immigration, since it's the exit point from Schengen. Should still be close, but it's a full "scan you out of the 'country'" passport check. fastpitchdad Posted August 8, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2018 Unfortunately it is probably too short of a layover to visit the most interesting airport shop that I have ever seen.

Just curious, did you use the new Easy Pass passport kiosks on either of your flights back to the US?
CruiserBruce Posted August 8, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 8, 2018 Just curious, did you use the new Easy Pass passport kiosks on either of your flights back to the US? We flew to MUC in May, back in June. We flew on United. At checkin we had our first immigration check, which showed us to be Global Entry, and we buzzed through. The second check was as we entered the gate area. Again, passport check, and a couple of questions. Took a minute or two. Don't know anything about the Easy Pass items.
