Hi - I am due to go on a cruise from next Tuesday 13th Feb on the Spirit. I don't cruise that often so apologies if these are very simple:

- What type are the electric sockets on board?

- Is there a preferred currency on board?

- Is the dinner time meal system in the main restaurants fixed time seating or do you just turn up when you like?

- Is the Wifi on this boat reasonable and roughly how much is it?

Most are whatever is used in the US, there might be one European. Not familiar with spirit, but most boats have a limited number of outlets, so if you have a lot to plug in you'd need to bring a non surge protected power strip or extension cord.

Currency is US, but you can only use cash to setup up your account (most use a credit card), in the casino, or tips.

Dinner is just like restaurants at home - you show up whenever but might have a short wait if a lot of others had the same idea. Or you can make reservations. Reservations for specialty (ie additional charge places) are basically a must.

The Spirit has US, Euro and UK electric sockets. I can't remember how many of each, but we always take converters so we can charge multiple things.

Everything onboard is charged in US dollars. If you want to tip staff in cash then they will be happy to accept Dollars or Euros.

You turn up when you want for main dining room meals. If you plan to go to the uncharge restaurants then it is best to have a reservation. You are a bit late for doing that before boarding now (although you may find some availability). You can also book them onboard. The main dining rooms are pretty good though, in my opinion, so there is no requirement to pay extra.

The wifi is adequate and expensive. You can pay by the minute, get a fixed time plan or unlimited. I can't remember the costs offhand, but I think it's on the NCL website. The plans are available to buy in advance.

Thankyou for the replies.

One further question - is the internet package that is daily (just found something on their webiste that says it's $29.99 per day) locked to one device only or can you buy that package, and then log out one device and log another in?

You have a login which can be used on multiple devices, but only one at a time. We share it between us.
