Lunch Embarkation - what to eat!

1st time Carnival cruisers. Wondering on lunch when we embark. Most go to the buffet but is there an tips or secrets on where else we can eat?

If the Magic has Cucina del capitano (Sp) it's free for lunch and $15 bucks for dinner, I had it on the Breeze for lunch and dinner it was not crowded for lunch. Enjoy your cruise.

They go to the buffet for lunch because that's what's available on embarkation day.

Walk up and down lido and you will see lots of choices

My kids and husband always get a Guy's burger on embarkation day - they just can't wait a minute longer for one as soon as we board, LOL. [emoji488]

Guys Bbq is open on deck 5. It is only open on sea days otherwise and gets busy then. Very yummy.

Cucina del capitano is good and usually empty. Also bbq on 5 is open with less wait than sea days.

i avoid the buffet altogether! i go to the deli and get me a ruben. they are so go.

Guy’s burger, blue iguana Cantina, pizza pirate, deli. Everything in the lido area.

DS and I usually go to Guy's Burgers...I get mine straight up (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and donkey sauce) and DS gets his plain (cheese and meat only). Hubs usually goes to Blue Iguana for a burrito and we also hit the buffet for desserts, etc.

For me, it's usually Guy's or BlueIguana. First reason is I love them both! The second reason is that those choices of food tend to become more limited throughout the cruise as they are usually only open when you are at port. Lots of the buffet food and deli choices you will have multiple opportunities to get throughout the day.

My hubby and a few of our teens go straight to Guy's Burgers. I go to Blue Iguana for 2 chicken tacos, and our oldest son gets pizza. We all meet at a table and eat together then go to the buffet for desserts.

Just off the Magic yesterday. We made the mistake of going to lido It's my 10th cruise. I should have known better. Do yourself a favor and go to the BBQ place on Deck 5 or the Pasta Bar on Deck 11 [emoji6]

On Magic you will have the buffet, Guys Burgers, Blue Iguana for tacos/burritos, pizza & the deli in Lido. On 11 you'll have Cucina for pasta. On 5 you'll have Guy's BBQ. Lots of options!

We ate at the buffet the first day for lunch, but I was so excited I also had tacos. I was craving Blue Iguana prior to boarding because I'd read up on its fabulousness.

Lunch was usually something simple, but we grazed all day long and enjoyed the food more than we should have (health wise) but I was happy to do it and would probably do it again. I really loved the salad bar too.
