jshli Posted July 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2018 We are leaving the east coast in 86 degree weather and arriving in Amsterdam when the forecast calls for 87 degrees. We plan to arrive in shorts and wear them when we are in Amsterdam while it is so hot. Is this considered correct, or will we feel out of place? Thank you. ozscotart Posted July 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2018 People in Amsterdam are VERY relaxed, wear what makes you feel comfortable. Sent from my iPad using Forums

kctwinmommy Posted July 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2018 My parents are currently on a Rhine River cruise and have been in shorts every day! They said it's been really warm for sure!!
eclue Posted July 22, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2018 Europeans are far more relaxed than Americans - wear whatever you are comfortable in.
newport dave Posted July 22, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 22, 2018 Just make sure they're not loud 'Bermuda' type shorts. Sent from my VFD 900 using Tapatalk
LTC Posted July 22, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 22, 2018 We just returned from a river cruise with a stop in Amsterdam, weather was warm and just about everyone was wearing shorts. You won't feel out of place wearing them.
diane.in.ny Posted July 22, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 22, 2018 This is an interesting thread and interesting replies. Personally, I would never wear shorts in a European capital city. Nor would I wear sneakers in Europe. But since I'm 71, I guess I'm a bit old fashioned (but with good legs for my age :D)

Globaliser Posted July 24, 2018 #10 Share Posted July 24, 2018 Personally, I would never wear shorts in a European capital city. It's entirely your choice, of course, but there's no shortage of people wearing shorts in London at the moment. Including me.

I will most definitely remember that for our next visit to London. :D
