Pride vs. Conquest

Not the same, Pride 2100 passengers, Conquest 2900 passengers. I prefer the Pride for this reason alone. Other than that, they both have the 2.0 upgrades with guys and the iguana. The Pride did not have a lido deck TV when I last cruised.

Is the Pride sailing from Baltimore during the time you are looking? That can make a big difference in the winter.

Both great ships, I prefer the Pride due the 800 less people on board, but the conquest class is my next choice in cruises. In June you will also be looking at a 7 day cruise on the Pride versus a 5 day on the Conquest and a big price difference although per day the Pride is much cheaper. For me, departure points would be factor in choosing.

My wife does not care for the 7 day itinerary of the Pride returning Sunday because it means she has to rush home and get ready for Monday or take Monday off.

The pride is a spirt class ship

Conquest is a freedom class. Conquest will have dead ends getting to the dining rooms

the pride does not-- as it onlyhas one dining room

Pride is more compact. It also has a inside cabin that features french doors tht open- cant go out but for a cheaper price you can have natural sunlight and fresh air. (deck 4)

Night and day. Spirit Class has the most square footage per pax in the fleet. Easy deck plan to figure out and lots of hidden quiet places around the ship. Deck 3 Forward is rarely found.

where is it located?

Mid ship pool area between Guy's and Blue Iguana.

OP - Been on both ships and enjoy them both. The Pride is still my favorite ship of all time. Very easy to get around and doesn't feel crowded at all. Prefer the aft wrap around lower promenade deck vs. the Conquest which only has a portion of the outside deck on either side. The itineraries out of Baltimore leave more to be desired IMO unless you snag one of the 14 day Journey cruises.

I'm glad for the info in this thread. We were on the Conquest last summer and the Pride this coming June. I did no research on the ship beyond if it had waterslides and a movie screen (for the kids!). We were just ready for a new experience!

I gotta say, the waterslide on the Conquest was wimpy. It's one of those that you have to grab the sides to help scoot yourself down because it's soooo slow. The kids were used to Waterworks on the Dream so that was kind of a bummer. I've read the Pride has a scary-fast slide (yay!) and one that's no biggie.

  • 2 weeks later...

We have sailed on the Pride 3 times with at least 5 kids (10 - 20years old) and once on the Conquest with no kids.

We preferred the Pride with the kids as it was smaller and much easier to navigate. The kids of all ages loved this ship and we have sailed after the last two upgrades. We also love the fact that we could drive to the port in Baltimore (we live in NJ) opposed to flying to FLL. Depending on the season you are sailing the Pride is a 7 night cruise where as the Conquest would be either an 8 or 6 night.

The Conquest was harder to navigate as there are some floors that do not go through so you are forced to go fore/aft via the cabin floors or through the smoky casino.

As far as the ports we are currently booked on the Conquest for this coming April for the ports. Princess Cays, Grand Turk, Curacao and Aruba two of which we have never been to before. Last year we selected the Conquest for the ports as well. Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Either way you can't lose with these ports. With the Pride you are limited to the Bahamas and upper Eastern Caribbean. HMC is beautiful but be prepared to walk...the beach fills up quick near the dock so it's best to walk further down (near the pirate ship) we have found this to be a better location as there is a bar and closer to the BBQ lunch. Don't get me wrong it is very beautiful at HMC but we did not like the layout. We felt some of the other private islands were much better layout and easier to navigate.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.
