Esilef Posted November 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2017 We just got back from our el cheapo 2 night cruise on the p&o pacific Jewel. I've never sailed with P&O before but went with an open mind. The Jewel is small compared to the other Royal Caribbean ships I've been on. She is going to have a makeover during a dry dock in March 2018 and parts of her are showing her age. That said, if the price is right id sail on her again. We were assigned an inside disabled access cabin. Largest cabin I'd ever had. The bathroom compared to the size of a JS on the radiance of the sees. We were on deck 11 under the pool but heard no noise or 2 night party crowd. Other guests were a motley crew of different ages and cruise experience. All were friendly and just looking to enjoy their time at see. Sail away on p&o was great fun. Up on deck and a band playing and people cheering as we went under the bridge. They do this very well. White bay checkin was quick and friendly. I ended up booking a shuttle bus from Sydney airport to white bay cruise terminal. this was well priced and very easy to use. Redy2go was the company. The food on P&O was ok. We only ate at the food court but it was nice enough. Others described it as "shopping centre food court food". Drinks were well price in Australian dollars. Overall a good 2 night cruise

GUT2407 Posted November 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2017 I wasn’t impressed at all when I tried her. But looking back I wasn’t well at the time, so may have to give her another go.

If you do, go after her makeover. We had an accessible cabin which was very large and in a great location.
Rare MicCanberra Posted November 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 17, 2017 I didn't mind her, the make over should be good for her though.

Can't see a time for a make-over. She's got cruises booked up with no breaks until1 Apr 2019. ( info courtesy of cruisetimetables.com)
Scottygirl1 Posted November 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 19, 2017 From 7th March until 17th of March there are no cruises for Pacific Jewel - this is probably when the refit will be done :) http://www.cruisemapper.com/ships/Pacific-Jewel-
