Looks like UA will begin seasonal service to PPT from SFO (3 times a week)

One piece of good news is their flight arrives in the evening.

Prices are not cheap.

Will be interesting to see if O uses them next year.

Yes, I did read last week about UA starting a seasonal route SFO-PPT (only from Oct 30 2018 to March 28 2019). This is in direct response to another airline starting the same route, French Blue (another low cost start up airline).

Given the very short commitment time frame UA will be providing these flights, this move is only to try to bury French Blue in a very short time span (typical move of the 3 US majors). I would expect UA prices to go very low once French Blue starts up this route next year. Once UA kills the market competition, who knows if they will ever offer this route after March 28 2019????

Cheers,

John
