jocap Posted October 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Hi, Tony and Sandra- welcome! It depends whether you've already cruised, and if you've been on smaller, older ships before...we've just been on Balmoral, and the food was the best we've had on any line; the ship was clean and bright; staff excellent. Yes, it's different to cruising on the massive ships, but no less enjoyable, and the small ships are able to dock in unusual ports. We're looking at going to Iceland next year- the greatest advantage for us is the choice of departure ports, which for us meant Newcastle.
