Koningsdam Ship's key cards

Recommended Posts

I know this has been discussed before, but it was early and there were no real answers.

I would like someone who HAS BEEN ON THE K (AND OTHER HAL SHIPS) to respond:

1. Is the card different?

2. Is it true that they will no longer punch a hole in the card?

3. Does the card still have a barcode and magnetic strip or something else?

4. When boarding, do they still scan the barcode?

5. Do you still insert your card in the cabin door to open it?

6. When shopping in the shop, bars and dining room, do they still take the card and swipe it?

Thank you in advance...

Lisa Laffnvegas says you just wave the card at a reader to debark and embark, just like the room door. She didn't say anything about purchases that I recall, but I would think it is the same.

I recalll seeing that answered by people that have sailed on the ship. ;)

Is there a card slot in the cabins to turn on the lights? If so, will any plastic card work, or does it have to be your cabin card?

It's the same size as other cards, so any card should still work.
