Can someone tell me if the e visitor sub class 651 which is free is sufficient for our upcoming cruise on Celebrity Solstice?

Yes, for Australia, as long as you're not staying here more than 3 months.

It doesn't cover NZ though.

You shouldn't require a visa for nz.

I believe so.

You didn't mention what nationality/passport type you have.

Assuming you are British (?), just because you are 'British' does not mean you qualify for the 651.

651 excludes : a British National Overseas, British Dependent Territories Citizen, British Overseas Citizen, British Protected Person or British Subject passport. (Or if you have been naughty and spent some time in hm prison.) In which case, you might need a 601
