lol. I'll post more tomorrow.

This was the best cruise out of 6 total we have been on. Thousands of dollars later, and we finally made gold. Lol.

We had an ocean suite for 4. 7259.

Love/hate deck 5.

Cozumel: Nachi Cocom.. sadly, I think we will pass next time. Seems like it is going down hill.

Belize: river tour to see flora and fauna booked through Carnival. 2 hours. Highly recommend. Very enjoyable.

Roatan: my daughter and I booked that morning with Daniel Johnson's monkey and sloth hangout. HIGHLY Recommend. Its right by little french key, so next time will do both.

We 4 very much enjoyed Mahagony Bay.

Ok. That is it for now. Ask questions. Pics tomorrow.

The Dream was our favorite cruise ever until we sailed the Magic!

Can you expand on this a little more? We go to Nachi Cocom every time we stop in Cozumel and have been something like 5-6 times in the past few years. I was last there in October and thought it was the best trip there yet. Just curious about what might have changed since then - especially since I've got another trip planned for there in a few months.

Thanks.

I'm going to Nachi Cocom Saturday and was wondering the same thing. What was going downhill about it?

I just got back and I liked the ship. Didn't care for Deck 4 or 5 layout compared to other ships and lines and the music in the atrium was too loud especially at night. The couple was great, but would have been better in a more open area and this atrium is quite close- in compared to other lines, but there are plenty of quiet spaces and spread out areas and you rarely feel like you are in a herd unless you are on 4 or 5.

What was your thoughts about the ship? I am looking at the Dream with different ports. What did you think of the size, and variety of activities on the ship?

We just got off the Dream. This ship is bizarre, it had the most crowded feel of any boat we've been on. It seemed difficult to get from the bow to stern without going up our down multiple decks. The ship doesn't seem to be on an even keel and seems to list a bit to port almost all the time. Periodically, regardless of speed it would begin to vibrate, felt more severely at the stern. Our stateroom attendant was not able to turn our couch back into a couch for the day and bed at night and only was available once a day although the card did have a "both" option. We were in a cove balcony and I requested the rail and chairs be wiped down to clean them of salt but this was not done. The last sea day they decided to hose down the lifeboats which resulted in a waterfall on our balcony.

Maybe I am remembering things wrong. We have been 3 times. Were the nachos just refried beans and cheese?

I remember the food being so good and it was not so great this time. Mr. Sanchos seemed so much more fun.

The service was slow/non existent. It was hard to grab our waiter and he forgot to bring stuff we ordered.

I will try elsewhere next time. Sad. Loved Nachi.

Loved the ship! I was worried about how big it is because we prefer the smaller ships. Aside from that darn deck 5 (great during the day, lit up like christmas vacation at night), we loved the lay out. The flow of traffic was great. Alchemy bar was cool. Spa was so relaxing.

Sushi was wonderful. The indian buffet was amazing-- we wore it out. Guys burgers were great. Didn't do the bar b que. I was surprised to find the main dining room food gross. We did steak house one night, sushi one night, one night I slept in/loafed around the suite in my jammies :D during dinner time. Pizza was good.

We loved walking around deck 11.

Live music all the time. Piano bar. Lobby party each night was epic! The final party, 80s night was so much fun.

String quartet played Outside dining room and also played contemporary music in the lobby.

A few different musicians played in different places. All good.

This ship has it all. It was a lot of fun; I don't have many complaints.

I will add pics and possibly video clips. I'm swamped with getting the house in order and today is the day we realized my MIL very clearly has dementia. :(

I hope by the weekend to have a more complete review.

Strange, we didn't feel congested at all and felt the ship has great flow. You want a bad ship for jams-- title goes to Conquest, which I will never sail again.

Are you aware we had to stop and inspect a capsized boat?

Our sofa bed stayed put and made up the whole time. We had twice a day service. The sofa bed was made up sideways so that it wasn't in the way and my kids preferred it so they could rest when they wanted to.

For me, the worst jams on the Conquest Class ships (Conquest, Glory, Valor, Freedom and Liberty) are on deck 5 when people line up for the photographers. Lots of jostling, waiting, etc., to get from the Alchemy Bar to the casino or main theater in the front of the ship..

The way around this is to use the 4th deck walk through. I usually have late dining in the aft MDR, so I enter the lounge on the 4th deck, walk through the hallway on the right, and proceed to the 2nd staircase. That brings me up to the 5th floor mid ship elevators just outside the casino bar. (the 1st staircase brings one up to the Taste Bar area).

And of course, you can reverse the flow to get from the casino area to the aft comedy club, no problem!

We have never been on a Carnival ship before, The ships we've been on seemed to handle the crowds better and keep people spread out. . The line for the slides moved quickly but nothing else seemed to.

I'm not sure what you mean by sideways, With no chair, just a stool and beds in the room it is awkward to not have a place to sit when in the room for a few minutes. I got the cushions back out from the super secret hiding spot under the bed and put the couch back together myself. On our Disney cruise we also had a large chair in the room in addition to the couch and bed. On Royal they turned the bed back into a couch in the morning (although I gave up trying to get them to turn it back to a bed in the evening and started just doing it myself).

Yes, we watched along with everyone else, why? The inspection was a slow circle around it and then we continued on our way.

We had just left our suite balcony and were walking around the inside of the ship and had no idea we slowed down and were looking at anything. (We are boaters and would have been interested to watch).

Then we went to brunch, which was aft dining room. We felt a ton of vibrations and that is when our server pointed out that we had been inspecting a capsized boat and were back on our way. We saw the boat from the aft dining windows.

The capsized boat seemed too small to be so far out. We guestimated it could have been anywhere from 22-32 feet. I'm curious if you had any thoughts on it. Of course, scale in the open water is deceiving.

That is the only time we noticed vibrations, but our cabin was forward, deck 7.

I didn't think it was even that big, it looked like a small speedboat or large dinghy to me. I would guess it was being towed behind a larger sailboat and broke free in the night or possibly broke free from a dock somewhere and floated out. Could have been beached to low by a careless person and floated on the tide at some point too. I didn't have my binoculars with me so I couldn't see much more of it than that.

We typically felt the vibrations when at the aft pool, pretty strong at times even though the boat was only moving at around 14 knots or so, certainly not pushing it's performance limits. It was bad enough at one point that was making us physically uncomfortable. It would stop as suddenly as it started, I have no idea what could cause it, I would have assumed it was a problem with the propulsion like a bad bearing or prop out of balance but I wouldn't think that kind of problem would come and go.

You know, you could be right on about that. Now that I am thinking about it, we did notice the listing at dinner (late dining, aft) and we did noticed the on and off when we were walking deck 11.

Hum... maybe there is an issue brewing. If you have cove balcony photos, will you post some here? To avoid the bright lights of deck 5, I think we would try cove balcony next time.

I agree with you about the capsized boat... I was giving generous estimates assuming it was larger than it appeared. I have a photo from the dining room. It very well could be a dinghy that fell off a larger boat.

We were forward on the Starboard side. The cove was fine, very private with a few flaws. Our window had a lot of rust around it and the railing was rusty. If the wind was right while underway we got some spray up on the balcony which I presume is responsible for the rust. The spray also made the balcony harder to use if you wanted to sit outside and do something like read. The spray also left a salt residue on everything which is why I asked our attendant to wipe it down, it was filthy when we checked in, there was more salt on the chair arms than the rim of a margarita. The rust surprised me is because there seemed like a lot of it and I assumed that this kind of thing would have been addressed while the boat was in drydock. The room was a little larger than our stateroom on the Oasis but the bathroom was smaller.

I don't know if they do it weekly but on one of the last sea days they decided to hose down the lifeboats, they did it twice, once early and once late. and it rendered the balcony unusable because of the waterfall flowing through it. In Roatan they did send a letter stating they would be doing balcony maintenance that day and before we left a guy had come though opening the partitions and power washing the area, it would have been nice if they could have coordinated the lifeboat cleaning with the balcony cleaning so that they minimized the impact.

I didn't take any pictures of the actual room so nothing to post, sorry.

IMG_3093_zpszg81eu1c.jpegIMG_3089_zpsufaxu6vd.jpegMy iphone took on sea water in Cozumel, so some pics of lesser quality are from screen shots of facebook live. (Lost brand new prescription sunglasses, iphone and camcorder when we flipped our jet ski in deep water. The sunglasses went to the sea floor; the other two were in a zip lock bag of water: zip lock bags don't work, yall!!;p )
