Master Card Gift Card

We just booked the Pearl for next August. We booked thru a travel agent we met at a sort of cruise convention. We asked if there were any promotions for using a credit card to book the crusie and we were told no. But on returning home, I scouted around some of my favorite cruise sites, and saw there was a promotion from Master Card for a gift card depending on how much you spent on each cabin. If it was over $1500 including port charges and taxes, you could get a $100 MC gift card.

My question is, was this a promotion just from this one particular cruise site or is it a national promotion from Master Charge??> Has anyone else heard about this???

 

Is there any other promo out there for booking with a certain credit card???

At times I've gotten OBCs for using Master Card, at other times for using American Express...these promos come and go all the time. They can be only when you book through a certain agency or a certain cruise line, or they can be more broadly based offers. There's no pat answer.
