dtiger Posted October 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2009 You have to bring your life jacket from your stateroom to the lifeboat drill.
sillysailor 1955 Posted October 5, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2009 Never sailed on RCC but have sailed 3 times on NCL and life jackets are taken and worn to the muster drill (also on HAL and Princess)

Yes, you have to attend the muster drill, (please don't hide in your cabin; you'll delay everything) and you have to bring your life jacket. Some people have a difficult time putting on the life jacket the correct way and, at the muster drill, they will show you the proper way to put on the jacket. lambs2 Posted October 5, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 5, 2009 Just got off a 5 day RCCL cruise, and the above posters are right. NO life jackets required at the drill! Every other cruiseline we have sailed on has required them, however, including our 4 previous NCL cruises.
johnql Posted October 5, 2009 #8 Share Posted October 5, 2009 The life jackets are definitely required to be brought to the muster drill on NCL. I find it hard to understand why RCI has decided to forego this - the best way to learn how to put on the life jacket is to actually do it under proper supervision. I've seen plenty of passengers struggle with the procedure. Assuming that the passengers can figure it out on their own seems unwise.
Duff Man Posted October 6, 2009 #9 Share Posted October 6, 2009 Wow, that seems crazy! On the one hand, we have posters saying that some people have trouble putting the jackets on correctly (which I believe), yet on the other hand a cruise that doesn't take a little extra effort to make sure people know how to use them! Even just putting the jack on 1 time is likely to "teach" the passengers.
