Diamond members benefits??

Recommended Posts

We just got off the FOS Oct.4th. There were hot and cold snacks. Cold were salmon, veggies, desserts, fruit, cheese and more. Hot were, shrimp, chicken dummies, stuffed won tons, cheese sticks and more. They had a different selection out every night. The drinks were good. Willy was great.

What is available for drinks and food in the diamond lounges on the Freedom class ships and is it open between 5:30 and 8:30 each evening? We are hearing conflicting stories about this and would appreciate some input please

Thanks in advance:)

Someone started this thread earlier -there seems to be no consistancy across the fleet.

Exactly the same as it was when I cruised on Freedom in May....:) I cruised again on Sept. 20th to 27th and the Diamond Lounge was run the same way as it was in May....with hot & cold appetizers and a variety of mixed drinks, wine and soda. Available from 5 to 8:30 every evening.

Oh ya....service was great! Two thumbs up for Allan the Bartender in the over flow lounge in Cloud Nine....:)

So far only the reports from persons who have cruised on Freedom class ships, which have a permanent Diamond Lounge, indicate that the usual fare of hot and cold hors d'ouevres are still being provided each evening. What many more posters might be interested in learning, is the experience of those Diamond members who have sailed on RCI since the nightly Diamond Event was introduced on the rest of the ships in the fleet. Any enlightening comments? Have snacks been eliminated, reduced to peanuts and/or trail mix, or is it a work in progress which may eventually evolve into something more closely approaching what was previously offered to Diamond members when they had access to the Concierge lounges?

Just off the Jewel a few weeks ago. Wine, Champange, and mixed nuts.

The big suprise was the Hotel Manager, Cruise Director and two others I didn't meet showed up about the 4th day in the cruise to mingle. There was only about 20 people in Hollywood Odyssey.

We just got off our Brilliance cruise to the Med last week (Sept 19-Oct 1) and had a great time. As far as the Diamond Lounge, it was practically deserted. Some nights only one other couple and toward the end of the cruise only about 12 in the room. A lot of complaining going on aabout our demotion. Angela, the hostess did the best she could with wine and champagne and some pitiful granola junk. It was a comedown from what we've become accustomed to. Our best cruise buddies were in the Concierge lounge with only about a handful of people. They had booked a suite. They had all the nice canapes and munchies but nobody to talk to so joined us in the Diamond lounge.
