mathgeek1978 Posted October 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2009 Just received a "FREE CRUISE" email from Carnival: "Spend three fun-filled days cruising on the Carnival Elation to beautiful Baja - an offer exclusively for our Carnival Players Club members - and pay taxes and fees only. Availability on two select sailings: Oct. 19th and Oct. 26th, 2009." Did anybody else get this emai? Anybody knows what's the catch? The only fine print on fees is the $44.03 in taxes and fees. There must be some other conditions, I'm sure.

Who's in??? Does your companion/spouse have to pay (other than the $44)? My DW didn't get the email invitation (she doesn't gamble). So I figure they might let me cruise for free but charge my DW full fare. If it's cool, then I just have to think of a good excuse that I'll need to take a few days off work with such short notice... Chacooe Posted October 13, 2009 #14 Share Posted October 13, 2009 My PVP called me with this deal last week. I wish I could have gone, but medical problems are preventing it. That is what I like about my PVP, she will call me with West Coast specials like this before they are announced.

Tell them what everyone else is telling their bosses right now, that you have got the Swine Flu. I know of 3 people that are using that excuse to go on different trips right now. Since I am retired, I can go whenever and don't need an excuse.

gkbiiii Posted April 21, 2012 #21 Share Posted April 21, 2012 Two years ago I was emailed a choice of three free cruises, one being an 8 night cruise from San Juan on the Victory. There were around 40 of us aboard, many like me, whom had never sailed on Carnival before. The casino was like Imperial Palace in Vegas, the ship was not to my taste; however I do plan to try the Breeze later this year.

gkbiiii Posted April 23, 2012 #23 Share Posted April 23, 2012 Well, it was a topic which I am one of the few who knows something about. I mean really, how many have gone on a comped Carnival cruise in the first place? Even more different being that it was my first on Carnival.
