Some women wear them but from my observation, not many. Most wear slacks or skirts with a nice top and jewelry but you can get away with capris.

It's not against dress code, if that's what you mean by "acceptable".

I think it depends on where you are cruising what the smart casual dress code will be. We have only cruised the Caribbean and there are many women who wear nice capris for dinner.

 

Capri length (below the knee) bottoms can be very casual and also dressy depending on the fabric they are made with. And they can be dressed up with a nice top and shoes.

 

You will be perfectly fine with capris. The only length bottoms not permitted in the dining rooms is shorts.

I almost always bring a pair of capris to wear in the dining room. As others have said, they can be very casual or not-quite-as casual. Mine are mid-calf length, perhaps a bit longer. I've seen many like them in the dining room. I've seen fewer of the capris that hit just below the knee.

 

They are also perfect for those nights we eat dinner in the buffet, and then go down to the lower decks for entertainment.

I always bring capris for dinner for warm weather cruising. Totally acceptable. For my upcoming Panama canal cruise, I am taking a mix of capris and long pants.

I have several pairs of nice capri pants with matching tops that I regularly wear to the dining room.

Capris are perfectly fine in the MDR on non-formal nights, especially during the summer or warm-weather cruises. I wear them all the time, and I am NOT the only one.
