Embarking/Disembarking in Port Everglades on a Saturday

Can someone explain how the transfers work? How much do they cost? Is there a

schedule? Where do you sign up? Thanks

You can buy transfers from your agent or Princess (whoever you booked with) or when on the ship. Princess will send you a form to your room asking your plans after the cruise (post cruise tours, transportation on your own, princess transfers) and you can purchase transfers at that point.

Transfers are simply a bus to the airport.

:(Just got back yesterday on the Crown. We had rented a car upon our arrival, pre cruise, into MIA. Dropped it off at Budget and their shuttle took us to the ship. Going back we purchased Princess transfers to MIA for our 1:10pm flight. We were told to meet in the Crown grill at 8:00am and by 9:00am we were out the door and boarding the bus.

If not for some road construction we would have been at the airport by 9:45, as it was actually 10:00 by the time we did arrive. The Oasis and 5 other ships were in town. We passed tons of taxis looking for fares.

If your flight is earlier than noon, I would suggest doing the walk off immediately and taking a taxi to MIA.

Thanks for the info as we have a 1:30pm flight out of MIA in January. There's absolutely no way in h*** we'll do a walk-off since we're not going to handle our luggage any more than we have to and juggling luggage with carry-ons and having to hold onto the handrail as we go down the escalator isn't for us. We're aware that we'll get to the airport early so we plan on going to the American Airlines lounge and relax until our flight. With a good book in hand, it's not a big deal.

I sail on Costa Atlantica on Jan 2nd which is a Saturday. We will be sharing port everglades with Oasis of the Seas, Carnival Freedom, Eurodam, Crown Princess, Zuiderdam, and Royal Princess. I will have to report back on the chaos when I get back. Of course Im not catching any flights so Im not too worried.

I think today is a day to revive this thread and look for experiences of passengers disembarking today and trying to get to early flights? This morning the Oasis is in from her first 7 day outing along with Eurodam, Independance of the Seas, Crown Princess, & Costa Atlantica.

I am interested in how passengers are getting from dockside to airport, and then once there, the time it takes for check-in and security clearance to their gate?..... We will be arriving in FLL on Feb 20th off the Coral and have a flight out at 11:15.....so am quite keen on anyone's experience today....thks:)

Typing this from the FLL airport we had a disembark time of 7:30 from the Casino they called us by 7:50 am we did express check of our bags and we were sitting at AirTran gate E6 by 9:30AM waiting for out 12:20 flight. It went fairly smoothly and we got right into a taxi with four of us traveling. Express Check is the bomb and would recommend it. I have been thru customs in a few other countries and the US always goes the smoothest.

Got off of the Crown this morning with the other self-disembarkation parties. They began letting people off of the ship at 7:10am. By 7:30am we had checked our bags in at FLL at the Delta counter and were at our gate by 7:45 am (we had a 8:50 am flight that was delayed until 10am). No problems at all in getting a taxi or through customs.
