Self embarking on a 4 night possible?

Recommended Posts

Been searching, but can't find an answer...we're going on the Navigator 4 night in Feb. out of Miami, and want to book a return flight in the morning. There's one at 10:50 I think we can make if we get off the ship early. Last cruise we had way too much time to kill...so tell me your opinion...

Can you self embark on a 4 night cruise?

Would you book a 10:50 flight out of MIA?

Thanks in advance for any help:)

Yes, you can.

You will probably be fine with a 10:50 flight, but *I* wouldn't do it. I much prefer complete relaxation at the end of my cruise. There IS a chance that there will be a customs delay or an immigration delay or another sort of hold up.

Searching may be easier if you use the term disembark instead of embark. When you embark, you are starting the cruise, just getting onto the ship.

If your question really was about getting onto the ship without checking in any bags then yes, you can self-embark, just take carry on bags :)

Self debarkation is an option if you have carryon luggage for certain. Regarding the flight time you are hoping to make.... very possible IF there are no delays by customs clearing the ship, the ship not being delayed getting back into port, etc..... If things run smoothly, that flight is very doable, but I would have a back up plan if things do not go as you hope.

oops, I knew that! :p

Thanks for everyone's responses. I think we will go for it. I've always been impressed how smoothly things go in Miami, so I think we'll take the chance.

I wouldn't do anything risky at the beginning of a cruise, though! I worry MUCH more about getting TO the ship than getting home afterward!!:D

I would 100% do it because I go in with the attitude that chances are MUCH better that nothing will happen. Nine cruises and I've never seen a customs problem delaying the ship THAT long (I know, I know, it happens...).

On my last cruise i did luggage valet. We were escorted off the ship AFTER the people who did self-disembarkation and I was at MIA at 8:30, waiting for a 12:10 flight. I wanted to kill myself since there's NOTHING to do/eat/see in terminal D! :)
