Emerald E731

Please help. I've researched this, but am coming up with conflicting info. On the Emerald Princess do these cabins have extended balconies? (E730 and E731?) We have stayed in this cabin on other Princess ships, but am unclear as to weather or not they did away with that great extended balcony we love. Thanks..looking to book asap. Will go with a BA lido if it isn't extened. : )

The last AD mini on Emerald deck on either side of the ship has an extended covered balcony.

The same mini suite cabins above on Dolphin deck do as well but the balcony is exposed.

We were in E-730 on the Emerald Princess this past June. We reserved it figuring the fully covered balcony would be good with the iffy weather in the Baltic. It is the last cabin on the port side (E-731 is the equivalent on the starboard side) on the Emerald deck and has the extended balcony – almost twice the size of the ‘regular’ mini-suite balcony. We were able to enjoy it in port and on the 80 degree day sailing down the fjord from Oslo but on most of the other sea days it was too cool and or/windy but we’re sure it would be a great cabin to have in the tropics! It is located right above the Club Fusion and we brought ear plugs just in case but we never needed them. Either the sound proofing is superior or the other passengers were as tired as us on this port intensive cruise and weren’t up late partying (or both)! We'd reserve either E-730 or E-731 in a heartbeat.

Is there a divider to on the aft side of the e730 and e310 balconies, or does the balcony give you a more panoramic view? The deck plans seem to indicate that there is a public door just past these last cabins leading to a small balcony area aft of these cabins. And did you notice much motion? We're looking at the Caribbean and this seems like it would be a great location!

No divider - you look straight out onto the wake. It's a beautiful view. We didn't notice any additional motion compared to 'less' aft cabins we've had on the Coral and Island (still in the 700 series of cabins). We like aft cabins because of their relative privacy (few passengers walking by); in fact we have one that faces aft in 2 1/2 weeks on the Royal Princess and another in October on the Emerald.

we had e731 on the Sapphire a few years ago and it's a very big

balcony. we felt that it was pretty wind back there compared to

the other cabins in the same vicinity. but in warm weather, it

should present that much of a problem.

we actually preferred the corner aft-facing Caribe deck cabins that

weren't mini-suites compared to E731 because of the wind factor.

Sounds like you are still getting some conflicting information:D. We are also in E731 (Diamond) sailing NEXT Tuesday from Auckland. So excited about this balcony. We love it outdoors more than indoors anytime (even in the West Texas wind---to a point) , love aftward cabins, so think this will be a great choice for us.

We had the last minisuite portside on E deck on the Sapphire to Alaska and loved it. In fact we booked it's equivalent on the Golden to Hawaii

this year. The view aft is great and we love the large deck. Since there are no minisuites that completely face aft we'll take either of the last side

ones anytime.

Are you in E728? Because I'm in that one in April. I would love to hear about your experience when you get back........ re:wind on the balcony and noise issues from the Vista Lounge, in particular....

We had E731 last year on the Emerald, and it was wonderful! We still talk about that balcony. We have tons of pictures if you would like to see it. No wind, very little movement, no noise. Beautiful!
