r&rfraz Posted December 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2009 here is my question... we will be cruising on carnival splendor. we will be a croup of 3 families (14 people in all/8 of them kids). we are wondering if it is possible to check our luggage with the porter at the curb around noon and then walk over to the queen mary & queen mary villagef or a few hours and then walk back over the ship and board around 2pm. this will be the kids 1st trip to long beach and would like to see the queen mary and shops if possible. is their any reason why this would not work? thanks in advance for your help!!! paul929207 Posted December 5, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2009 Ye, you can. In Fort Lauderdale, we dropped the luggage at about 10am. Returned our rental car to the airport and came back to check in.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 5, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2009 Yes -- you can do that. There is no rule that says that when you drop off your luggage you have to check in. Enjoy!!
Donray Posted December 5, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2009 Yes -- you can do that. There is no rule that says that when you drop off your luggage you have to check in. Enjoy!! There is no rule that you can't check in, get your picture taken and then leave the ship. This way you can also get back later.
fodorspeter Posted December 7, 2009 #6 Share Posted December 7, 2009 As the others have said, no problem. I would come back around 1:30 or 2:00 as that is when the lines are typically the shortest.
sail7seas Posted December 7, 2009 #7 Share Posted December 7, 2009 Absolutely agree with the others. You can even board and then go back ashore if you wish.

kadeycat Posted December 8, 2009 #9 Share Posted December 8, 2009 The Queen Mary is within easy walking distance. If you want to go across the bay by the aquarium and shops, take the FREE red bus. They make the rounds every 15-30 minutes and its easy to get back where you started. Leave plenty of time for the return, they are not the fastest but they are free.
