Late Night Entertainment on Princess Ships

I will be sailing on the Emerald in February & this will be my first time with Princess after many with RCCL. I want to find out how late the entertainment goes on with Princess. On RCCL, the live entertainment in the bars & lounges usually stops shortly after 1:00am on most nights even if they are 2/3 or more full. When the entertainment stops, most people leave & go to their cabins. Does Princess have anything going on after 1:00am?

On the RCCL ships, the disco stays open until the wee hours of the morning and can be quite crowded. The Princess is the same way. The disco is called Skywalkers on their ships. There is not much difference in entertainment opportunities between the two cruise lines.

It may depend entirely on the itinerary, but our recent Alaska cruise on the Diamond seemed as though everything shut down around midnight. Club Fusion was dead 3 out of 7 of the nights. On the nights when something was happening in Skywalkers, there were few people (less than 20) ever there after 10 pm. One night it was 80s music, one night was pop, rock, etc., while other times the DJ just played random music.

I am a night owl and love the night life, but after the 3rd or 4th night, I found myself turning in early simply from a lack of activities. Not a big deal since we had to rise early on port days. I love Princess, loved the ship and loved the itinerary, but very limited activities after a certain hour. Late night snacks were available anytime, just not always the entertainment.

This is more "Alaska" then anything. On my RCCL Alaska cruise, people didn't stay up very late either. Alaska is a totally different beast! People say Carnival is also sedate in Alaska.
