Anyone ever see anything bad on a cruise?

We had just debarked at a port and were waiting for a tour on the pier, when (what I assumed was) a husband and wife walking from the ship down the pier, all the while arguing, VERY loudly. The guy was swearing and calling her names that I cannot repeat here. Everyone stopped and stared, including children who heard the whole thing. It was extremely sad. If I wasn't a 5 foot 1 inch tall female, I might have pushed him into the water.

Okay so I was on the Conquest with a group of friends. We pulled into port one morning (I believe it was in Cozumel) right next to another ship, can't remember the name. ANyways, We were u on the Lido eating and looked over and we were looking straight into the men's restroom on the other ship. We could see them going in and out of the stalls, standing at the urinal, not washing hands, shaking off, all the basic guys RR stuff.

It wasn't about 15 mins before everyone on our ship was looking over and shocked that they would have built a RR like that. I'll never forget it.

My first cruise with the parents and my wife ( forget the ship , it was a smaller ship ) . Woman had a heart attack ( nobody new this at the time ) . were off Cuba , sitting around the pool drinking and a jet buzzes the ship . ( pretty close ) Gets everybodys attention . we think were being attacked by Cuban Air Force ( did we get too close ? ). Plane comes by again . Grey , no markings . It was a S-3B VIKING out of Gitmo . 10 / 15 min later , a C141 shows up and circles about a mile away . Little dots fall out of the aircraft . shoots , than a big shoot . we watch the para shoots fall into the water . About 30 min later a Zodiac is coming towards the ship with navy rescue divers in it bouncing over the waves . They board the ship , they proceed to the aft deck . A helicopter shows up and as were heading into the wind . Slowly comes in from behind, eases up to the aft deck . The helicopter drops the rescue basket to the aft deck of the ship . now we are on the top deck ( mid ships ) and the bottom of the helicopter is only about 20 to 30 feet above us . they put the woman in the basket and haul her up . Off they go . got some great pics with my 35 mm camera . ( before digital ) . I still remember the kid in the helicoper door give us the thumbs up as they peeled away . Best part , the poor navy guy's had to stay on the ship for the rest of the cruise ( back to miami ) . They recieved a lot of attention from the lady passengers !

On our last cruise, last Feb on the Inspiration, we left Tampa but had to turn around because a passenger was ill. Headed back to Tampa, but the rescue boat met us partway and they offload the passenger, turned around and we headed out on our way. Then on the cruise itself, I will swear they empty the nursing homes in Florida and put those people on the ship. I know we should respect our elders, but these were the rudest meanest people I have ever seen. Then one the last night of the cruise, over the intercom system was the Death Star call. One of those passengers passed away. I am sorry they passed away, but then having your last days on a cruise ship would be a good way to go.

Aside from bad behavior, I haven't really seen anything.

On a Princess cruise, the first night, there was a Code "something" that was being called a few hours before dinner... and someone was airlifted off the ship while we were eating during the early seating.

We had two code Blue Star's on our trip last week on the Miracle. Two heart attacks:(, one in McGuires Sports Pub on the first full day of the cruise and one on the 2nd full day. Ran into relatives of the guy on the second day, and thank God he was doing well:). Not sure about the guy in the first day. Funny though, we were in the sports bar watching the football game a half hour before code Blue Star was announced. Hope the guy made it.

I just want to read some stories....it could be a mechanical failure on the ship. Or someone fighting....just anything....

I have seen several times, people on a Caribbean cruise when its in the 90s outside, put on Formal attire and then walk around for hours in it.:D

We were in the Fascination in April 2009, my first and only cruise thusfar. DW was playing quarters game in the casino, near the entrance to the casino.

I noticed a young woman about 20 years old who had squatted down right at the entrance to the casino. At first she was picking up her purse that she had dropped. But, before she could stand up, she had urinated all over the floor right there.

Maybe it wasn't really "bad." But, watching her try to stand up, speak clearly, and explain to the casino host just what happened was about 15 minutes of entertainment you just can't beat. The next morning, she probably didn't even remember it. But we retold the story to everyone who asked about our cruise.

I was on the Imagination back in 1995 and we were down in the engine room by the side thruster . It looked like they over torque it and tore the hull of the ship.It was about 16"long and water was squirting up . They had about 6 pumps pumping the water out

I think I've been in that RR. It is wonderful. I always wave to the other ships...a friendly hand-wave, of course. I even took 8 women on a tour of that restroom. Mooning another ship doesn't seem practical, though.

Dave, were you injured?

Wasnt me. What had stuck in my mind about this guy was he had almost got in a fight with another guy outside the Inch of Gold booth. They wondered off as I continued to chat with the gift shop worker. A bit later we heard something going thump thump thump and looked up to see the guy falling down the stairs.

This was on an RCI ship.

Two ladies from the Cruise Critic. boards yelling and screaming at a crew member over what, I have no idea. Maybe some one broke the dress code.:D

How do I know they were Cruise Critic types, they were at our M & M.

It's why I will never attend another M & M.

Probably the worst thing I've ever seen was on the Mariner of the Seas.

A lady who weighed somewhere around 400lbs was on one of those little scooter things, and where was she? At the dessert bar, with 5 cookies on a plate. She sits that plate on the edge of the bar and is REEEEAAACHING as far as she can go for cookie number SIX. The boat barely rocks and she tips over and was lying in the floor on her side.

She's wasn't hurt, BUT she was stuck in the little scooter and couldn't get out, nor could she sit it back up. It took four men to sit it back up with her in it. She was physically wrapped around it. Her fat rolls were hugging the bars that she had to drive with.

As sad as that was, it's pretty hard for me to have pity on someone who obviously knows they have a problem, but was reaching for cookie number six. She HAD to have been embarrassed, but she reaches over, picks up her cookie platter that was still on the dessert bar, and rolls off to eat.

Thank God there is laws about that kind of stuff here in the US.....That supervisor might have needed to take a little swim....lol

As far as I know, there are no laws against your boss yelling at you...in private or public...in the U.S.

I saw a woman do that in a J.C. Penny's store--and she wasn't from this country either!
